Post of the thread right here! Super rich tat-guy registers just to put the peons in their place. Thanks for setting everybody straight, not-at-all anonymous "Krisg81".
Given mankind's track-record in history, why would you ever consider having faith in humanity in the first place? This is such a disturbing post. It's even more disturbing that it is the highest voted post. Posts like this don't give me much faith in humanity.
Bwahaha, i think that is really hilarious. What is even more hilarious is that people with tattoos in that place really think that they deserve an adaption from the companies to their needs. That's just what you get for being individual, so you'll just be an individual without an apple watch, problem?
We have the same problem with heart sensors or other devices like that in the hospital every day, i can always just tell people that they should have thought first before getting a gigantic black tattoo on their wrist knowing that they have a severe disease and bad veins and will need treatment. Some people that have like thousands of black moles on their back decide it would be smart to have a gigantic tattoo cover it all up. Then they complain when their skin cancer is detected too late..
This sums up my thoughts about this "tattoo gate", when you decide to have a fancy tattoo on your wrist and cannot use a apple watch now:

By the way, i got some band aid the other day and it doesn't match my skin tone, how can companies not think about this?!
Not for the crowd that fell for it.No worries, the trendy sleeve tattoo craze has almost run its course.
It looks like there is some truth to #Tattoogate.
After the Apple Watch was shipped to consumers, some wearers with tattoos covering their wrists complained that the device's heart rate sensor wasn't working properly.
That includes an inked-up reporter from Reuters, who claimed his Apple Watch didn't send him "the soft pings that alert a user to incoming messages" and gave him "significantly different" heart sensor readings on his tattooed wrist.
Like #Bendgate, when users complained about the iPhone 6 Plus bending in their pockets, #Tattoogate gained traction on social media.
Apparently, it's not just a hoax to gain attention on Twitter. While Apple did not respond to NBC News' request for comment, it did update its Apple Watch support page to address the problem:
Permanent or temporary changes to your skin, such as some tattoos, can also impact heart rate sensor performance. The ink, pattern, and saturation of some tattoos can block light from the sensor, making it difficult to get reliable readings.
This is not a unique problem. Several other smartwatches and wristbands have the same issue. Apple, however, probably isn't too worried. Despite #Bendgate, it sold 61.17 million iPhones over the last fiscal quarter.
NEWS FLASH: Having a tattoo has nothing to do with intelligence.
Hmm. Nothing against tattoos and I don't judge people by their looks, but on average, it wouldn't surprise me if it's like religion; the farther up the IQ ladder you go, the less you find of it.
Inkghazi!
Sure, it's likely that smarter people put more thought into what they permanently put on their body.no, the farther up the IQ ladder you go, the more aesthetically pleasing and artistic tattoos you'll find

You should get a tattoo on your face.
Can you explain what bad veins and a severe disease have to do with the watch and tattoos
Sure! It shows that you should think about the consequences of your decisions and not blame others for it when you end up having a problem. If some people are stupid enough to decide that they need a tattoo in a region that is critical for their medical treatment (and then complain about the medical personnel) i am in no way surprised that now some people try to blame apple for the watch not working with their inked skin.
I am in no way against tattoos, they can be really aesthetic, but i just can't stand people trying to blame others for the consequences of decisions they made in the past. As i said: deal with it
So if you get a tattoo on your wrist your stupid? I have a sleeve and both wrists tattooed it has never gotten in the way of medical treatment. You can draw blood no problem thru tattooed skin. Sounds like you are spewing opinions and not facts
I was wondering that myself. In the video, why does the watch continue to say "0ft" next to distance even though he's walking?
But it's not BS that this technology might not work on skin covered in ink. Plus we don't know for sure that everyone with wrist ink will have problem. Someone posted earlier in this thread that they have a sleeve tattoo and haven't had any problems with the watch.

Apple just updated its page to reflect that tatoos can cause problems.
So either they didnt know and they should have tested more or they knew it and hoped nobody would notice (thats even worse) .
Meh. Number of people affected is most likely minuscule. It's just in this day and age everything gets blown up on the internet.

Let me guess, people with tattoos are going to protest?
