I use the Reminders App, that way I can just tell Siri to add items to my grocery list. The list is shared with other members of the family so everyone can use it.

I also created a new list called"Shopping" in the reminders app.

I just tell siri to "Add eggs to my shopping list."

Really easy when my phone is plugged into the charger. I don't even have to go over and pick it up. I just say "Hey Siri" and it listens for a command. Then I tell it what to add something to the shopping list.

May 20th is the official rollout date for all Trader Joe's stores

How do you know that? Source?

That would be great. My trader Joes has had the new terminals for a few months now, but not turned on with ApplePay yet.

Honestly don't see why pulling out a $600 smartphone to pay is any easier than pulling out a plastic credit card. One thing's for sure - the credit card will suffer less potential damage if it's accidentally dropped in the process.

...adding, glad to see TJ's also accepts Google Wallet and isn't exclusively Apple Pay.

Hmm.. this is like saying I am sure glad I didn't drop my iPhone the last 1000+ times I pulled it out to use an app, make a call, send/respond to a text/imessage. check a notification, send an email, etc etc...

The dairy and meat goes bad much, much faster than the stuff from Safeway though.
Expiration dates are on all the dairy products, typically 10 days for fresh milk.

I've never had anything go bad early, maybe your refrigerator isn't set cold enough.

I forgot to mention that the complaint is mostly related to cheese after it's been opened, regardless of how it's resealed. I don't drink much milk so I can't comment on that.

Convenient: Put iPhone or Watch near terminal, your primary apple pay card comes up automatically, put finger on touch ID, beep, done. Sometimes it might ask you for PIN, but, just hit whatever you need to run as credit (green or red button, depending on store & terminal).

Plus, for me, I typically have my phone out while waiting in line anyway.

AND:
With Apple Pay, the vendor never gets my credit card number. Given how frequently credit card systems are breached, this is a huge benefit.
Security ^^ and it's tokenized, so, even if someone were to get the numbers used, they could not do anything with those numbers, your iPhone or Watch needs to be present to approve transaction via Touch ID (and there is no way to find out what that number is connected to). This is the most secure, hardest system to break.

as to this: "...adding, glad to see TJ's also accepts Google Wallet and isn't exclusively Apple Pay." ...if you don't care, then why do you care? ...NFC accepts any NFC system. The store has to actually turn it off for it not to work, which is what some places did that were locked in to that stupid other thing.

You are probably resealing it too tightly and, if it grows some mold, just scrape it off and eat the cheese. Whenever you eat cheese you're eating mold wether you realize it or not.

Now I have noticed short times on their cheese, that's my biggest complaint about their dairy.

I always select carefully, and buy in modest quantities.

Which is good grocery app?

My needs are simple, would prefer shared list and simple to use.

I currently use notepad, it works okay as I can use it on my mac and add things whenever I remember.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

"Buy me a pie"

Few expressed excitement about that and there is no denying that McDonald's is ****. There's too many people that think Trader Joe's is a health food store.

I wouldn't describe Trader Joe's as a "health food" store but I do appreciate that they carry many items that fit my Essylstyn-vegan diet. 100% whole grain breads with no oil for under $3, organic greens, non-dairy yogurt, and a surprising number of competitively priced items without additives or sugar. During a visit to the East Coast the Trader Joe's I found had real, honest-to-God, über-fresh apple cider from a local producer — very dark and cloudy, unpasteurized, 100% apple, just like what I grew up with in the Midwest. I don't eat mayonnaise but my wife does and the ingredient list reads like a farmers' market shopping list as opposed to a lab experiment.

You can bash TJ's all you like but if big supermarkets followed their lead our country's average diet would be far less lethal.

Signature Required

Why is it that I still have to sign a receipt when using :apple: Pay? I thought that authenticating the payment with my thumb print was going to be sufficient. When Apple introduced :apple: Pay I believe that a signature wasn't required...

You can also keep the phone in pocket or bag and pay from watch with a turn of the wrist.

Yes, I totally agree.

Taste is personal, so when someone say they don't like the way TJ's processed foods taste, it's a matter of opinion. But to say that their foods is of mediocre quality without backing their statement, I have an issue with that. Just look at the ingredients.

On the flip side, if you like something there, chances are they are made with very high quality ingredients. If you think the quality is terrible, and you buy better groceries for yourself, then good for you because you must live better than the top 1% in the US.

Compared to places still asking for the last four digits of the "card", I really don't mind signature. FWIW there is a way for stores to recognize that Touch ID was used and they'll probably start using that as time goes on.

This is the first time I've ever heard anyone say this about Trader Joe's. Mediocre at decent prices has always been my experience. I have one 2 blocks from my apartment and shop there MAYBE once a month. Garbage produce and bland processed foods.

Um? We can shop at trader joes for much cheaper than places like Safeway. It is surprisingly cheap compared to pretty much everywhere else. Their stuff goes bad quickly, but that just means it isn't filled with preservative crap right? Lol

We do most of our shopping at Trader Joes and get stuff we can't find there at Costco or Safeway.

Where do you think the best places to shop are in the Seattle area?

Does anyone know if the Cary, NC store has this yet? I probably visit this store more than any other store I shop. Love 3 buck Chuck.

I have worked for Trader Joe's for 9 years. Your store should be getting them any day now.
