Yeah, this is a hardware upgrade thing... and if they release a 16GB iPhone then i'll just refuse my package tomorrow, call up apple, and make the arrangements for the switch.

:(

What new hardware is out there that the MacBook Pro would need??

You greedy portable bastards get the most updates.

The Mac Pro owners are left in the dark for the past year (don't count the 8-core).

Honestly I just want a video card that isn't worthless, although intel has released a new extreme core 2 mobile processor.

As has been discussed elsewhere, the MBPs need to stay competitive for the holiday season, and if they remain as they are until the end of the year, they will be pretty poor performers for the price point.

It isn't set in stone. At least wait for the dust to settle before going into severe depression;)

Yes, that's a bit early for new products to be added to the store, but then again, there's no keynote. Could be a minor addition or product bump.

I think a minor product bump is all it is. Heck, it might not even be that big. We simply have to wait until the morning.

it wont be a big hardware update (Macbooks, mac pros, or macbook pros) because those, always have big keynotes, not a silent, middle of the night update....

Like I said, it is most likely them adding the Mac Office '08 to the store

Just saw it too on accident. Can't see how it would relate to iPhone features... unless the new features will be advertised somewhere in the online Apple Store, which would make sense, I suppose.

Maybe I'll get iPhone Pages Editor... Yes, I'd pay for it.

Good point, although I would really like to see an update to the MacPro.

Wake me when the store comes back up...

The last MacBook update didn't have any fanfare.

Really? Crossing your fingers for a new MBP when it was just updated 3 1/2 months ago?

OK.

If you look at the MBP buyer's guide, there have been two occasions where it's been updated within 3 months. It's not completely impossible, especially not in the current atmosphere where Apple may want to capitalize on their massive public presence to dominate laptop sales for the holidays.

Somebody's gonna have some hurtin' fingers....

Hell, I'd even accept the new "slim" MBPs that have been rumored. =P

Will the store be back up in 15 or 20 minutes? I have to know whether there's a 16GB iPhone or not, before I go to bed.

The UK store is still up.

"still"???
I thought the UK store was also down...

I hate when so many people start threads, just because the site went down!
And then everyone is like "mac pro! MB! MBP!! updates!!"
Every time, for the passed 4 months that I have been with MacRumors, nothing big has happened after a mid of the night, store update...

Which revision??

all of them. even when the macbooks were brand new, it was just added to the store without any special event to go along with it. typically, apple adds new hardware in the wee hours of the morning (5 am-ish pacific). i really doubt anything big is going on here.

The reason for the thread is not that the stores have gone down, but that they have gone down during Apple Expo Paris. Mind you, the French store is not down.

If they release a 16GB iPhone, I fully expect Apple to ship out my 16GB iPhone tomorrow with overnight shipping (a new order that I would pay for), and simply take back my 8GB iPhone with a full refund including the $17.00 I paid for shipping.

Honestly what would make most sense to me is Intel letting mac be the announcer of their new quad core mobile cpus, with Nvidia doing the same with a 9xxx series (mobile at that) launch on the MBP platform.

All in a new, thinner MBP.

With all other apple products dropped from the store.

I'd be happy with that.

And all that tonight, with no hooplah, just in time for me to buy it for my birthday in a week. =]

The store being down is probably nothing more than bug fixes or the adding of some new minor products. For example: third party hardware, software, or accessories etc. ;)

If there is a new Apple product like a Uber-Thin MacBook when the store comes back online I'll eat my own hat. :D So let's not get all excited for nothing.

oh man i would die if that happened. i would be so happy!! quad core mobile cpus though? idk about that but i would still die. battery life would have to be longer then 14 minutes though.

perhaps they are going to put OSX up on the store tonight with it shipping in 2-4 weeks. who knows?!? though it would be nice if i didn't have to wait until january for the slim mbp to show up.
