Happy for the news, but...

needs.controller.support.

Drudgingly played through level 1 and quit. I don't get it. MFi controller is supported on the iOS versions. This should have been a relatively painless process. Oh well, will wait till it gets updated.

Your controller didn't work?

Great game, although I highly recommend Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It's just more amazing than the first one. So if you want to spend on one game from the series, just wait until the second one is available on tvOS.

As much as I really like the second one, by 10 minutes I’m already at Mystic Cave Zone. And that’s without a controller and just using my thumbs.

Nothing like hitting a dead end in the middle of a pool of lava.

Marble Zone is extremely annoying for me but yeah. Sonic 1 is still a great game, but it doesn't have the awesome music and compelling zones that Sonic 2 has. :)

Chemical Plant Zone. <3

I am a Sonic fanboy, but must say that all Sonic releases on touch displays (and likely this) are terrible.
LOL what? These are the definitive versions. Full controller support, HD, 60fps. Every port except the Christian Whitehead ports have had the same framerate issues as the original Sonic. Oh, and you get the extra moves from the sequels in the original as well. So good.

I saw this on the App Store last night, right after I bought a Nimbus controller earlier in the day. I'm upset there's no controller support!

What are you talking about it does have controller support. When you go to the settings menu is shows which buttons the game utilizes for gameplay.

Wait. Do MFi controllers work for the tvOS version? I actually didn't even try.

Someone earlier in this thread mentioned it didn't and it also doesn't show the controller supported icon it's store page.

But if it does, then I take everything back and I'll be one happy camper! :)

Just bought this...its terrible with the Apple TV remote. I've already cancelled my purchase and applied for a refund within 2 minutes of installing. Don't waste your time unless you have a gamepad.

Yikes.. I know that its the definitive version, but I very much doubt the port of this to an AppleTV is definitive in its control scheme.

dpad + buttons, how else would you play it?

Wow. You trash something you didn't even bother to try? Classic.

No controller support kills this.
Posting bad info kills this.

Your second quote was partly the cause of my misinformation. The other part is that it doesn't show game controller supported on the store page which is misleading. I've learned my lesson and I'll try my controller anyway in the future, with or without the icon. And lastly, and certainly not least, I never trashed the game.

could you get the apple tv to use the wii remotes to play games with ? It just uses standard blu-tooth. Now that would work nicely

My inner 9 year old purchased this in an instant when I saw it on the app store.

Like the pixellated look. Had it on Sega Megadrive. I would have played it on a 14" TV back in the day.

Soon as I heard that music - boom back twenty five? years.

Really? I took a ook at the preview and it looked horrible (the resolution totally sucked); back to the eighties. 3 dollars waisted on old junk.
SMH. Kids.
[doublepost=1458521248][/doublepost]Pretty much rage quit three times on Marble Zone Act 3 now. I've completed this game and the others in the series dozens of times on different platforms over the years. I know I'm old, but was it always this difficult?
