That's the problem with this forum these days. Full of children throwing temper tantrums, wanting new shiny toys. I'd prefer stability and improvements on the current features, rather than more features and things not working right. I want improvements to Siri, transit integration, etc. Apple Music is another improvement, rather than new feature. These are improvements we need, rather than umpteen new random things like the phone flashing up random colours if someone calls, or depth of field changes for selfies....

Actually some of the kids are very mature, some are not , though some of our worst users are the older ones who resfuse to allow another an opionion. They troll the forums just as much. Tandrums are nothing compared to irrational hardcore fans.

On you second point about stability, completely agree. Apple needs to slow down and release software when whey are ready, and not rush it to meet WWDC each year. Though this seems to be the trend in the industry these days, unleash something, and fix it, and apple has joined them.

As long as they offer it as a trial happy to give it a go, very soon I will know if it will have the music I like. Not being an iTunes fan, this might get me using it again.

For me, the ability to buy and stream music from one service (in this case Apple Music) would be huge, especially for those who use iOS + OS X devices. Lowering the monthly price would also be awesome although it appears that won't happen anymore. I'm excited for tomorrow. :)

I surely hope it doesn't mean the end of iTunes. I like having one program to manage my media content. Killing iTunes would be a bad move by Apple
Well the saying continues to be true. You can't please em all. Many people want iTunes to be broken down to separate entities because they feel it's too bloated being a one-stop-shop.

On another end, I just find it hilarious when people say, "This would be a bad move by Apple". This company wouldn't have gotten to be the most valuable company worldwide and have over $200 billion of liquid funds in the bank if they made "bad moves". I think they know their business 200 billion times better than you do.

Hopefully Apple Music's mobile streaming is more reliable and resilient than "streaming" with iTunes Match.

I wonder if they'll announce discontinuation of the Android app tomorrow as well?

Because not everyone pays $10 for a music service.
I don't think that quite addresses that other member's question. The point they were making is if Spotify is charging $10/month they don't see why people are acting like Apple is over-charging for their service. There's no difference in premiums.

Or, if you spent it all on albums, you might have 200 albums of crap, you'd never want to listen to again....

There's pros and cons to both. Each has their own preference. Neither is wrong or right. Better to have options though, than being forced to do one or the other... Why do people seem to want to restrict peoples options to what they decide is best?

Your comment reminded me of leasing vs owning a car. Worst thing I've done was lease a Honda Civic back in 1996. If I bought to own (like my current car and truck) I would still have it today because I take care of my vehicles.
That's basically want you're doing; leasing music.

Why I agree I still download and never stream my music unless it's music I already own in that case it's already on my device
Has Apple removed DRM yet from iTunes or are you still only buying a license? The main reason I stream music is so that I have access to pretty much any music at any time. I can also download a bunch of songs using Premium Spotify to my devices so that I don't have to 'stream.'

I could buy the same music (i.e. spend $10 a month on songs I like) but listening to the same songs gets boring after a while and I would probably question whether I wanted to buy the songs in the first place.

Under Steve Jobs, a reveal in advance of the keynote would have meant a broken partnership with Sony. The employee who revealed on Instagram would have been fired instantly as well.

"The times they are a changin'."

There would've been bodies.

But who is saying that $10 is the magical price point? I find $10 way to much for leasing music so I would never choose any of them at that price point. 3 months ago Google had a special deal for $3 for 3 months and while I liked it I'm not dropping $10 on it. $5 yes. $10 no.
So if Apple does a special for a few months sure i will try it but I'm putting a note in my calendar to cancel 2 days before renewal. Maybe Apple will undercut everyone by a few bucks. Let's see. And I would like to see the cross platform compatibility as I use both Android and Apple. I'm not locked into one ecosystem.

loved you spotify but its time to end things, its not you its me. Theres another girl who I just met and her name is Apple Music....she told me shes gonna rock my world and her reputation backs that up

So you'll use it just because it's Apple?

I'm ready to switch my Spotify subscription over to Apple. Hopefully it will be worthwhile!
I have been a Spotify subscriber since July 2011 when they launched in the us. I really hope Apple gets the service right because i would love to switch. I used to have iTunes match and i ended up getting rid of it because Spotify is my main source of music now.

For the past few years i've switched back between iOS and Android and i noticed it's gotten a little harder. I was tempted by an S6 but realized what a pain in the ass it is to root on OS X. I'm sticking with iOS at this point.
