Tone deaf AF Sony. I'm not a console gamer, but clearly Sony needs to focus on PS5 retail availability rather than simply contenting itself with throwing another log (or maybe in this case 'twig') on the scalper-exploitative-douche-bag bonfire that continues to, more or less, rage out of control. There may not be a 'good' solution to the problem, but I would like to see at least a tiny bit of 'try harder / try different' to disrupt the current situation.
I dont see what one has to do with the other.
Demand is through the roof, they're still dealing with chip shortages, scalpers are rampant, and engineering is probably working on a v1.1 to skate around part shortages asap in their best interest to get these machines in consumers' homes... but they can coin a deal for some sub perks. It's not like supply chain is in control of services
