On the other hand, if Apple came out with a decent travel case for the AirPods Max, I'd certainly be tempted to get those instead. Sony's travel case is one of its best features!

There are nice third party travel cases for AirPods Max. Why not just get one of those?

EDIT: wth is with all the dislikes? ?‍♂️ I don't get it. Are you denying that there are nice third party travel cases for the AirPods Max? Did I write something in invisible type that was offensive that I'm not seeing? Could someone please explain what's so upsetting about my post? I'm seriously baffled why I'm receiving such a negative reaction to simply trying to help someone out.

Here, see for yourself if you don't believe me:

apple is garbage when it comes to their headphones. ugly. don't fit right. overpriced. ****** performance. heavy. and dumb.

I think they look great, they fit me just fine, and are priced right. The ANC is excellent. The weight doesn't bother me at all. All that being said, I think they're way too bass heavy for music, but I mainly use them for watching movies.

I came across this article about a married couple whose AirPods max factor heavily into their routine of raising their child and it’s a fairly fascinating read.

I am not sure how much of their experience with the AirPods max can be replicated using cheaper alternatives elsewhere, but they do make a pretty compelling reason for owning a pair. If Apple does released an updated version, I might just find myself picking up one of these.

I would gladly change my Beats Solo Pro for this SONY headphones, if (and it is a big if) they had the level of OS integration that my H1 Solo Pro have with macOS, iOS and iPadOS.

Quickly pairing my headphones and changing from my mac to my iPad using the same headphones is a great experience.
The current XM4s can be paired with 2 devices at the same time. For me, that’s my iPad and iPod Classic.

Or just skip the ”having kids” part and save the planet from a whole lotta plastic Disney garbage.

please dont mix and match currencies in the article.

Edit: thanks for the fix
Do you realize how many headphones Sony has made over the last five decades?!

Name me one other competents made as many quality headphones or you headphones overall as much or even half as much as Sony! Then tell me if their marketing team could keep up with Sony.

I am hoping these in wired mode a has mic line as well. I know it's all bluetooth and wireless but still it's a nice feature to have if I want to connect to a gaming device.

People who praise Sony headphones should get their ears checked.
Why would you say that? Do you have any performance data you would like to share with the rest of us? Any claim to having ears that are better than the rest? Have you beaten one of those ABX tests (I haven't). I do have the XM4 and they definitely do a very good job for me. Good noise cancelling, good sound, comfortable, outstanding battery life and they switch fairly well between iPhone and Mac. Not sure it would make sense for me to upgrade to XM5, but the XM4 usually gets pretty good reviews. I do have wired Sennheiser, but for wireless comfort, walks outdoors, the XM4 are great IMHO.

Rarely touch my WH headphones since I got AirPods Pro. Kinda regret the purchase. AirPods Pro on my keychain are just so more convenient.

Nothing wrong with the Sonys, though. Great pair. Just were $$$ for how little I now use them.

Doesn’t Sony have someone who works in advertising it come up with an actual product name?

It will probably be Japanese anyway

if you guys want good sound quality headphones, the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless is the way to go. Airpods Max, 1000XM4, and Bose Quietcomfort 35 are all beneath the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless.

Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless is too geeky and ugly for me

Nicer than the Airpods max but not as nice as the Bose 700's.
I can’t stand the sound profile of Bose headphones.

That‘s not gonna happen, Apple doesn’t give away those API connections, and Sony is not gonna sue Apple to get them.

On the fence. I love how my XM4 fold and also how light and comfortable they’re. Hope these are even more comfortable, but not happy they aren’t folding anymore.

Those sound great but completely fail to cancel any serious sounds. Also, mine couldn’t connect with more than one Bluetooth device without being a pain.

Sony has the best value XM4s that seriously cancel active noise while sounding really good. I got my XM4s on sale on Black Friday for $229.

I haven’t tried the AirPods Max. My AirPods Pro are the most convenient that cancel some sound, but I really like the comfort of the AirPods 3 over the AirPods Pro.

One small critique of the XM4s. When I start singing along, or I cough, whilst wearing them, something strange happens which causes them to ping, the music fades out, and I have to press the power button to fade the music back in again. Am I using the ANC wrong?

Isn’t that a siri invoke? At least it would be normally. Not sure if XM4s can do it without touching button or if music fades after ping.
