If I was to invest in a MacBook Pro I think the color would be low on the list of priorities.
Yeah, except its the only actual upgrade that I would get any real world use from at all in going from my current 16" M1 Pro MBP. Obviously, I'm not upgrading anytime soon. Just saying.
Apple keep trying to push GPU performance, but I think for 99% of customers, the base M1 chip's GPU performance is already massive overkill. It certainly is for me.
But, to get the things we actually need, such as more RAM, bigger screens, etc, we are forced into paying for higher spec chips and insane markups on RAM/SSD. So, I to get the 16" screen, and 32GB RAM I needed, I got the lowest spec M1 Pro chip that the 16" MBP came with. Which is soooo way overkill in GPU performance that I won't need to upgrade it for the next 3000 years.
Apple needs to split it's focus better. Sure, keep pumping out faster high end chips for those that actually need the GPU performance. But for the rest of us, you're just so far off the mark it's not funny, give us the nice Pro features, but without the expensive, unused, Pro GPU power.
And FFS Apple, you keep finding excuses to bump up your prices and margins, whilst the majority of the world has less and less money to spend, and wonder why your sales are dropping. The billionaires keep getting richer, and the rest of us keep getting poorer. It doesn't matter how much extra money each billionaire earns, they are still going to buy 1 or 2 Macs each, and 1 or 2 phones each.
It's not like your prices are simply matching your costs, and it is what it is, you are charging outrageous markups for particular features, simply because you think you can. Maybe you can. Or maybe your sales are dropping.
The only thing Scary Fast about M3, is the scary fast delivery time of the entire line, for those few who bothered to order one.
