Apple link bracelet. I picked up used in really good condition a while back when I first upgraded from aluminum to space black with S2.

I've got a SBSS on order for the first time. I've owned the space gray version of the Series 1 and Series 3 and have always just stuck with the provided bands (black Sport and black Nike+ Sport). I've always been happy with how the space gray looks with the black bands.

The SS model I pre-ordered has the black Sport band included but I'm wondering how that's going to look and which bands I could potentially plan on purchasing to dress it up for different occasions. Can current/previous owners of the SBSS provide photos of it with the band(s) you use or have used?
I have the original space black SS link bracelet and I've been wearing it with the Series 3 Space Grey watch and now the Series 4, and it looks great. You can't really notice the difference unless you look really closely.

For me, I just couldn't justify the cost difference (almost double the price) just to have SS and sapphire and the space black. I've never had a scratch, but then I'm very careful.

I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't just cancel my SS order and stick with space gray aluminum. I feel like you can wear pretty much anything with it and it's more of a fitness device for me anyway.

I just did that; picking up the watch later today, at a price that's around $200 less than the Stainless. For me, that's quite a bit of money to pay for shiny, yes, and I know about the Sapphire screen, and the DLC coating, but I can deal with those things. I'm pretty careful with my stuff.

I love the sport loop. My wife has had the neon green (Flash?) for quite a while and she says it just gets more and more comfortable as you wear it. I picked up the “black” one a few days back and while I love how it feels, I’m worried it’s not going to match with the darker space black.

I've had both the "regular" sport look in the Apple "black", and the Nike Sport Loop in "black". The "regular" Apple sport loop isn't a true black, has what appears to be a slight red tinge going through it. The "Nike" sport Loop black is a true black, through and through, and looked way better on my series 3 SBSS. Go for the Nike one if a true black is what you want.

I’ve had two aluminum watches (S1 and S3) and both have ended up with scratched screens so I’ve decided to stick with the SS.

I’m not sure I’ve seen the Nike sport loop but after wearing the “black” Apple one I’ve decided I don’t like how it doesn’t flare out where it meets the watch.

I’m looking for a leather (probably dark leather?) that will dress up my Space Black watch for more formal occasions and maybe to wear to work.

Nomad has a great leather band with matching black lugs for the SBSS. I had the SBSS for a short while but it was just ok imo as it was really lacking flexibility for the types of bands I wanted to use. My own personal stance though.

SBSS with knockoff green sport loop amongst a background of Panera trash.

I also have a hibiscus and black sport loop, all equally nice.

This is the cleanest look ever.
S4 SBSS 44mm with Apples linkbracelet. I've never been happier with a purchase. The linkbracelet is worth every cent.

My first Apple Watch purchase was a Series 0 Space Gray. It was nice, but it was lighter than I wanted. I also didn't like the idea of easily scratching the display. Now they use Sapphire and ceramic for the back of all the Apple Watches, but the previous design for Aluminum backs scratched easy as well. I am also a watch nut and my preference tends to go towards the heaver side. Titanium is a much better and stronger material, and I hate wearing it because of the light weight lol.

Not long after, I upgraded to the Space Black, sold that Space Gray, and have had every generation of Apple Watch since then. I will only buy the Space Black, the finish holds up incredibly, and I find it is versatile enough to go with most bands I like. The main thing I love about the Space Black is how sleek it is. You can't tell where the Stainless Steel case ends, and the display begins.

I also bought it back then with the Space Black Link bracelet, and it has been my primary band of choice since. When I swap bands, it's usually to the black Nike Sport Loop, or when exercising I use the Black Nike rubber straps. I also initially bought the leather loop for the series 0 and occasionally wear that.

Blends nice with Hermès sport band :p

I've been searching here for band ideas for my new SBSS 44mm and have really appreciated all of the responses. I Just got the Cape Cod Blue Leather Loop and sharing it here for anyone else who is trying to decide on a band.

Thanks so much for all of your contributions!

ps; Although I think it's a tad on the "bright" side it is growing on me. And my wife absolutely loves it and thinks it looks great on me ;).

personally, i think the SBSS looks great with bright bands. i pair mine with white, cape cod sport loop, hibiscus sport loop, neon green sport loop, and nike platinum... as well as more sedate colors. it's very versatile, makes bands pop.
