I got an email from Apple this morning telling me that my payment was declined… It turns out it's been so long since I ordered the watch that my card had actually expired!

I called them up and gave him some new card details and it went through fine… The chap said that there is no guarantee, but usually if you are charged then it normally dispatches in about 72 hours.
 
That is a huge jump.

What happened to doing them in order, as Apple claimed only just the other day? :confused:

My 08.24am BST order is still processing, although does finally have a window with dates (24-30 June) rather than just "June". No charge yet, and certainly no dispatch.

You may want to check your order status on Apple's website. Maybe there was an issue with your card/payment method. (we've seen that when the charge is so far after the pre-auth with some cards).

My order changed on Thursday (some hours after the "don't worry, we'll fill the Space Black online orders before putting it in Stores" email from Apple) from just "June" to "2-3 weeks. 24-30 June".

I've not checked via actually logging in to the Apple website properly, but both the Apple Store App and the Apple website order link in my original order confirmation email say "2-3 weeks. 24-30 June", with no mention of payment issues of any kind.

I've also not heard anything from my bank to say that there was a problem with an attempted charge from Apple (I've had past Apple pre-order charges blocked automatically by my bank's fraud detection service and had to phone up and get it re-authorised).

I checked my bank earlier, and have no pending charges and nothing declined.

I'm not sure if it shows anywhere other than actually logging onto the apple website. Most credit cards don't alert you when their fraud protection measures are used. You really should check on the website.

Clicking on the order link in the original order confirmation email gives the full details for the order, same as if I went to the Apple Online Store, logged in properly, and then viewed the specific order I wanted.

Viewing the order via the Apple Store App gives the same info, but without the option to change the payment method or cancel the order.

Nevertheless, I've just logged in the Apple Online Store anyway, and it still shows exactly the same as clicking the link in the email or viewing via the Apple Store App: Processing, 2-3 weeks, 24-30 June.

And that's for an order that had an xx:24 (8.24am BST) email confirmation for the 42mm Space Black, for delivery in the UK... which is why I'm surprised (to put it mildly ;) ) that someone who ordered an hour later than me has had their 42mm Space Black dispatched already for delivery in the UK :confused:


As for my bank: On previous occasions when it has decided that a charge for an Apple pre-order is fraudulent or otherwise suspicious, it has always phoned me for confirmation.

Well, there's at least two that have been charged after your timestamp. Normally, I'd write it off as rounding error, but b19_col being more than an hour after you removes that possibility.

We did have one other instance that Apple messed up someone's order - when they contacted Apple it was a "wtf" moment and they corrected it. Maybe your order's also fallen through the cracks.

Time to give them a call.

Couldn't get through to a real person, but the female robot gave the same information as the Apple Store App and Apple.com: 24-30 June. No mention of any issues.
 
Finally, my 42mm Space Black Apple Watch is preparing for dispatch.

I ordered it on launch day and received the confirmation email at 08:15 (+15 minutes after orders started). I was originally given a vague "June" delivery day, and last week that changed to "24 June, 2015 - 30 June, 2015", but I just checked it this morning and I've been charged and it's preparing for dispatch. Exciting!
 
So the last movement we saw was on Monday? Are we seeing regular movement on Mondays in the UK, or do we not have enough history to identify any kind of pattern?
 
I was charged on the weekend and it shipped on the 8th and is out for delivery today.

I have been tracking it all the way from China and it only arrived in the UK at ~03:30, yet it's gone from Stansted to Newhaven and now onto the van by 08:00! The logistics are very impressive.

Mine has arrived (ordered 08:32) but alas I am about 270 miles from home right now, so my wrist is still unadorned :(

Guys I have an 11th April 9:52am order for a Space Black Link Bracelet 42mm.
It finally went over to Preparing for Dispatch and charged my account at 3am this morning!
Still refreshing like crazy in the hope I get it on Friday or Monday.
