Hi, was wondering if the Space Black Stainless Steel had a 1st generation (I'm not meaning the original generation)? I can only find Space Black Stainless Steel on Apple's site as 2nd generation. Thanks for any information.

It only came on the first gen 2015 (series 0) and 2016 models (series 2)

The first generation of the black stainless was discontinued with the debut of the Series 2 Black Stainless Watch.

They are available MOSTLY online, I would look on Best Buy, Amazon, Ebay..but be careful. But check this site also - maybe theres a store in your area? http://www.microcenter.com/site/stores/#

Crazy, I was Best Buy last night just walking around. I walked by a black SS and thought "so nice!" I've had the Space Gray Sport since June 2015...been wanting to upgrade to a SS for a while but never pulled the trigger - didn't care if it was 1st Gen. This morning I got an email from a place called Micro Center a massive computer store outside Philly that sells Apple products. I get these emails a few times a week, mostly Windows stuff, monitors and I ignore them. But this had the Black Stainless Steel 42mm AW for $202 - with the Sport band (Band was not a big deal, I have 3rd party butterfly bands for my Sport)

I had an old balance on a gift card from them dropping the price more. Personally I never saw the price this low on the black SS. I hopped in my car and drove the 40 mile round trip and picked it up - lol, usually the luck doesnt go my way, worried it would have been sold out 10 minutes after I got there. Yeah I know, so maybe I have two 1st Gens..I might sell the Sport or just give it to my brother. The darn thing is beautiful! It's charging now, I'll sync it up shortly. :)

That's a steal of a price and I just wore my Space Black yesterday. Love the look of it.

Okay I'm impressed. Is this all series 2?

Those are nice bands dude.

Most of them. The bands are the best part when switching them out, which makes it easy to add to the collection.

The woven nylon bands are surprisingly nice.

This doesn't even include my Watch band collection! And if anybody is wondering, I wear them all. @ZebraDude might appreciate this collection as well.

Can I ask why the hell you have 4 SS just with different bands? Why not just change the bands out on one model? I get having the SB SS, and maybe an edition or sport model, but what the hell do you need 4 SS for?

You counted incorrectly. There is five. And to answer your question is because I like them. Also, there are Series 2 and first Gen stainless combined in that photo.

I did not count wrong because I was only referring to the actually silver SS models, not the Space Black one.

I understand liking them, but having multiple AW in the same Series makes 0 sense. It's not like a luxury watch that you can't change the bands on. The bands simple slide out and you can slide a new one in. Again I get having different material versions of the Watch, but to have multiple SS models is kind of ridiculous.

Perhaps he's a busy man and just doesn't have the time to swap out the bands... lol

Each to their own I say! Personally I have two watches, a classy looking one and a sports one for dedicated workouts.

And that makes complete sense. I have two as well. I have the ceramic edition and the gen 1 SS. I can understand having two different models, but the same model just is a totally waste of money.

It doesn't have to be a "Luxury" item for me to appreciate what I choose to do with my money and what I purchase. It's how I view and how I see it fit. You may see it as ridiculous, I don't share your views. And I'm not boasting, but expendable income was my decision and I grasp the fact these will be outdated, which I'm fine with. I wear every one of them and it's to my liking. To each his own. Knowingly everyone has different collections and appreciations for different things, if you can accept that, then you can respect my reasoning, but nor do you have to agree with it.

You took what I said about luxury watches the wrong way. My point with those was that there is good reason to have multiple luxury watches because they are different. Having a gen 1, series 2 SS, series 2 SB SS, and a series 2 sport, that all makes sense. I just can't understand why anyone needs 2 or more series 2 SS (silver). They are the same Watch they do nothing differently. I may have come off strong, and that was my bad. You have the right to do whatever you want with your money. I just can't understand that other then boasting. If that is the case fine. Don't tell me though that you were not boasting. You tried to correct me on the bl number of AWs you had because you thought I was shorting one. Did you need to remind me how many you had? Again to each his own, but your reasoning makes no sense. If that works for you, go for it.

That's a bit harsh, I've never seen him once boast on these forums!

So, you're essentially rehashing what I already posted before based on my reasoning, which you don't understand and won't understand because of your defensiveness and pedantic behavior over my watch collection.

And to prove my point, you're not understanding, this isn't boasting, another formum member requested he wanted to see the pictures of my Apple Watch collection based on previous discussions.

Again, for a third time, my reasoning doesn't have to make sense to you. You seem somewhat obsessed over my logic for owning multiple Apple Watches.

I think this discussion is plenty exhausted and it's very clear you're not understanding or gathering my reasoning, which I stated you can respect it, but you don't have to agree with it. I'm not trying to make this difficult to understand, but you clearly are. Thanks for the discussion and moving on.

Harsh how? How does it sound if someone corrected someone else for saying they had 5 Mercs and not 4? I know those are more expensive, but correcting someone for thinking they were shorting you on a an item that is purely to let everyone know you have 1 more. I don't think his post with the picture was boasting, but to try and correct me (which he did not know what he was talking about), I thought that was a little much.

That's called a simple misconception. I thought you were referring to all five, when you were referring to the four stainless models, with The exception of the black stainless. It Happens, it's the Internet and confusion can occur.

You're attacking forum members more than you're making a valid argument about the Apple Watch. It's not working for you.

Yeah, you're not coming across in the best light to be honest with you.

Am I attacking you? No I asked you a question from the beginning. I said it sounded like you were boasting after that, but hey apparently I am wrong. Do whatever you like.
