I just lost all interest in the conversations to be honest.

Nope, it can be OCD if you keep checking your watch all the time under light for scratches etc., always thinking the worst things could happen to it, or replaying times that someone might have touched it, or rubbed against it. People with OCD don't want to feel this way and hate what they do. People that are anal retentive are proud of their sense of accomplishment. So basically it can be either, buying more than one as you're scared they'll get scratched, or anal retentive as you like the neatness of a collection and them being pristine.

Yeah I really don't care about it that much either. I really do understand what you are saying, but in the context of this thread, OCD did not come up at all as a reason for having the AW collection (if that's what this one is called). I get that people have an issue with keeping things spotless and clean, but I do not believe that is the case with this particular collection. Honestly if it was, I would understand a bit more. Still it's a lot of money to put into a collection of AWs that are all the same.

With all that said, sure maybe I came across a little harsh. I do admit that, but I think my question is still a very valid one. While the answer to the question was really never answered other then just saying because "I like them", I get people have different tastes and likes. Usually though there is some kind of rhyme and reason to something like this. Like the user that has the sport, the SS, the SB SS, and a few other SS. Those all have different uses for the user. He uses one for working out, the others are for different occasions. I totally get that. I for one don't want to put down several thousand dollars to have a smart watch for different occasions when the Watch gets updated every couple of years. But I do see why someone with the cash to do it, does it. Honestly that is all I know to say. There was never really a reason given for the first collection, but I don't need to waste my breath asking anymore. If the answer is because I like it, that should be good enough I guess.

An AW collection is far far cheaper than a mechanical collection!

This is true. I don't have a very large mechanical collection, but the one's I do own are not something I could purchase frequently because of the high price point. My mechanical Watches are truly pieces I will always own and I have no intent of departing with, which serve their purpose for the right occassion over my Apple Watches.

He asked why someone had 4 of the same size/finish. Something I wondered myself. Having a 42mm series 0 in SS, then a 42mm series 2 in SS I get, but people are allowed to ask why one would have say.. 3 42mm series 0 SS watches. There are plenty of members like ZebraDude who have shown a collection of different sizes and materials/colours and I haven't seen people bugging those people
Seriously even I interpreted it the same way. Maybe he wasn't being too articulate as to how he came across, but I think he was sincerely implying that a variety would be more prudent. I don't think it's the number or quantity which was being questioned or looked upon with envy. I was going to chime in but then I realized that it would just cause further unnecessary turbulence. So I shall leave it at that.

I also love how there is invariably a "fire starter" lurking in the background on various forums and life in general, who likes to rile up people or add fuel to fire...Lol. I am always weary of such individuals.

PS: sorry for reviving this..
