12:04:24 for delivery by 5/8

I noticed some people with later order times have been charged but also others with early times have not. Hope to get my watch by Wednesday at this point.

Maybe it really depends on where you're located?

And this is what is frustrating. I'm an 03:04:26 4/24-5/8 and still processing. Yet you have paid and have shipping info. Doesn't make sense.

From what it looks like they mixed all the orders up and are fulfilling them at random.

After UPS go to Anchorage, do they all go to Louisville? Or do some go to from Anchorage to PA? Assuming since i'm in NY mine will ship from PA?
I'm so confused and pissed off at the whole thing

They all go to Louisville. From there they get flown to your local hub

For whatever it's worth, my 38 space gray that just shipped this afternoon is coming from MOUNT JULIET, TN

At this pont, I truly beleive location is more important then the time you ordered.

I don't even know that location is playing a huge role. I ordered a 42mm with email confirmation at xx:04:09 with 4/24 - 5/8 range and have seen no movement at all on my order. I live in Louisville so I would think that if location was playing a role, I'd have seen some sort of activity with mine.

Exactly. I'm in Indianapolis just a bit above you and I haven't seen any activity.

Pretty sure Tim Cook just pulls names out of a hat.

I'd like to believe that it's done in the same style as in the first Hunger Games movie. Just him on a stage in front of all his employees pulling little pieces of paper with names out of hat.

Most of the planes have landed but I don't see any new charges on this thread?

Hardly, or else I'd have hope that my 12:20 order would trump everyone ;)

The email timestamp cannot be trusted as an exact metric for where you are in line, that much has been established. I don't know what the margin of error is, but I bet it's pretty big for the first few minutes as the orders were flying in, then being queued for confirmation emails and deposited into Apple's main database, all happening across a hugely distributed system.

I think it's a combination of time and location. I've seen quite a few now that have either moved or had some change that had later confirmation than some of us. I'm 2:04:08. But the majority of them seem to be on either coast, with Central and Midwest getting left behind somewhat.

It's pretty clear that's the case. Watches are being assigned to orders only once they reach distribution centres in their respective countries. If they were being assigned from the point of origin, before being shipping out all over the world, we'd all have been charged before they event left China, and receive tracking information then.

What's happened at launch, is Apple has allocated inventory in local distribution locations, and begun fulfilling those orders based on the relative order location.

This is probably why we're seeing people who ordered the same sku in different regions getting their units before others who ordered earlier.

Apple must have been stockpiling inventory at these hubs before the pre-order date, only to find afterwards, they stocked too many of the low demand versions, and not enough of the high demand ones, like the Space Grey Sport. I don't think they ever expected the SGS to be so popular, given they only had it with a single freaking band colour.

If that is the case then I need some AZ love! Being next to CA , I would think it would be more likely but not the case so far. My wife's watch shipped out of Rilato, CA
