I think all the Apple defenders are missing the point... To give my own example, it would have been physically impossible for me to order any faster than I did... I began my order process right when the store was open and checked out immediately -yet my delivery window is in May and I didn't even get a sniff of the magical "April 24". There was NOTHING I could have changed to have received a watch on Friday from Apple. So that is where the frustration with this process lies for me. I've never missed a Day 1 release yet, and I've done plenty of early morning "F5-ing" in my time.

So defend Apple all you want (I love their products too, I just got my new MacBook on Friday), but there was never even close to enough stock to justify the "April 24" campaign.

I actually agree. What may sound as "apple defense" is honestly probably more me talking to myself.

This launch is off. I've also never missed a day one either. There are many factors and I want to be pissed too. I'm trying though to keep a healthier perspective.

Trying.

Anyone that wants to be pissed...don't let me talk you out of it:)

Anxiously awaiting a new way of card charges.

So I am speaking to an apple rep and I asked for a verification of my order time. I have a confirmation email of 3:04:54 EST and she told me that my order time is 3:12:xx am EST. She said confirmation emails don't really show your place in line which sounds like a load of BS to me and has just made me VERY upset!!!

This sounds like the rep making something up on the fly. The confirmation email contains an order number, so it's hard to see how the order could be that far behind the confirmation.

I spoke to a supervisor in the chat and he said he believes my order time was 3:04am but sees why the rep sees 3:12. that there are in fact two different time stamps and he is going to look into it and call me back in an hour.

Honestly, you're wasting your time. None of this matters. Your order is in the queue just like everybody else's. Nothing you say to a chat rep is going to make your order come any faster. They have no power to do anything about that. The time stamps are all trivial anyway. Apple's method of fulfilling orders is clearly not by going down the list based on order time. There are other factors at work such as location, model ordered, and supply.

My personal Hell that I wake up to every day...

Buck up. Mine said 18 days when I got that app, and it's using the maximum timeframe for delivery. Literally overnight mine went to prepared for shipping through all the UPS tracking.

Cool app, but it's a bit misleading quoting that days countdown. Apple could very well fulfill your order before that clock runs down.

still processing

Just had my order time confirmed by an Apple Specialist on chat.

Order is still processing and no CC charge

42MM SG SPORT BLACK SPORT BAND
ORDER TIME 12:04:04 EST
BEING DELIVERED TO: NY, NY

But you didn't get your order in on time to get one on 4/24. Some people did. I'm way bummed that I missed it by a couple minutes as well.

As someone else said before, I couldn't have gotten it in any earlier. 4 minutes and 26 seconds should be more than enough time. Regardless they had TWO WEEKS TO FULFILL ORDERS BASED ON THE QUANTITY ORDERED. No reason why any of us are playing the waiting game.

How did you get your deliveries app to display that info? I thought it did tracking numbers only.

This is not about making my order come any faster, this is about finding out when my order was actually placed because then I will have a better idea of when it might come based on when other people in the same time frame as me get theirs shipped. Right now I am to believe I am in the :04-:05 range which is getting theirs shipped to them now.

However if I AM in the xx:12 time frame then I am going to be thoroughly pissed off for staying up late and getting in and out of the store in less than a minute and still being pushed back EIGHT MINUTES!!!

BUT I will be pissed at apple for a different reason not for not having my watch to me sooner. This is about the hope they gave their customers. Saying first come first serve.

By my accounts and everything Apple has told me so far (aside from this new information) I should be very close to the front of the line.

Exactly. It's nonsensical that there is no relative correspondence between confirmation email time stamps and Apple's internal order queue. Someone mentioned that emails can travel through different path, different servers, delaying travel for some, but that would only mean that the time stamps are *later* than Apple's internal number. At order, the only thing Apple cares about is does this customer have the funds to make the purchase. Once confirmed, the order is logged and the receipt goes out.

Having said that, it's like we're all at a diner and a lot of us have ordered the Space Gray meatloaf sandwich. If only a few order the Stainless Steel tuna surprise, they may get their order before the rest of us get ours even if all of us had our order in first. Short order cooks may work a different paces. Our waitress may be a ditz. There simply are a lot more variables at play than mere order sequence. Generally they are going by time and seem to be (with exceptions) at about the xx:04:30 mark. I have not seen any xx:05:00 SG orders go through. I'm at xx:04:41, so I'm hopeful I'll see some action Monday or Tuesday.

Yeah. I should be very close to the front of the line as well. But the problem is that no one knows what the front of the line actually is. Mine order was placed at xx:04:22 and I've seen multiple people with later seconds get their orders shipped already. Along with some people with May and June delivery windows. If there is a method to the randomness, no one has figured it out.

At this pointi just want my watch to charge and prepare to ship and I would be happy but still nothing

Exact same as you, down to the second. Except mine is shipping to NYC and I used AMEX w/ Apple Pay.

it may be a little bit of madness, but it seems to generally follow the minutes ordered at least as far as the SGs are concerned. It may be off my 30 seconds to a minute here or there, but I don't see many people having a confirmation time of later than xx:05 saying they are being charged which means that there is SOME pattern to it. If my space falls into that pattern at xx:12 than I have a much longer wait than I was hoping for. Which is something I would rather know so I don't have to constantly look for updates.

Tom Petty was right...

...the waiting really IS the hardest part. Newbie (first post) here. I just wanted to thank everyone for keeping me sane during this long and arduous wait. I have 2 watches ordered - a SG 38mm with a confirmation email time of :04:39 and 4/24 - 5/8 delivery and a SG 42mm with a June delivery date. Both paid via AMEX Apple Pay. Like many, I would have assumed the early one would have been in my home by now. No movement other than the EOD I received on 4/23. I live in Louisville, KY and watch the brown and white planes fly over all day wondering if my watch is in the cargo bay. One of these days, I'll be right.
