I'm new here. I'm sure a lot of what I say will get dismissed as "he doesn't know what he's talking about". Here's what I have to say:
The 42MM Space Grey/Black sport and SS are the most popular models. We all know this.
I expect some people to get orders via FedEx, most via UPS. I have spent several years ordering items from Nike, among other athletic vendors.
They release a shoe around Xmas that causes a buzz, the Jordan 11.
Site crashes, order cancellations all happen. Typically 300-600k people get orders through. It is VERY common for people to receive order confirmation emails 12-24 hrs after placing orders. This release happens a few days before Xmas, and 90% of people get their orders by Dec. 24. They stage from Memphis and ship throughout the country in a few days. Production starts about 6 months in advance.
You guys need to realize, these watches are likely built to order. VERY high demand. People are working around the clock, and they have lives too! To track the status of a plane, is quite strange.
Apple gave shipping ranges for a reason, to account for demand and other issues with production and shipping. I've had several situations where I made an order and didn't get a shipped notice from Nike until after I receive the product. Calm down, the watches will come.
You guys are in the .0000001% of Apple users, and many of you will be the only ones you know with these watches for several months. even if you get the watch in June, you will likely be one of a very few in your local area with one, especially if you have a more expensive one ($700-1000).
You guys ever thought they're not focusing on updating statuses, and instead focusing on getting as many orders shipped as possible?
Remember, each day that passes means more watches are getting sent out, and made.
So before you complain remember there's someone in China making a watch now that works 10x as hard as you, making YOUR watch to please YOU.
Besides, the longer you have to wait, the more stable the apps will be.
