Ford Explorer/Firestone tire problem, many deaths from blowouts.

The recall was on the TIRES, not the vehicles... I had firestoned tires on the 99 truck... got new tires for free because of the recall (had ~40k on the ones that got replaced).

I can't help but notice that you didn't mention any 'major' recalls for trucks... Contrary to what some people believe trucks are NOT SUV's... :p :D

BTW, do you happen to know (for a fact) what the recall of the Focus was?? I don't remember hearing about it, but then again, I also don't watch the news that much. Most of the time, I am still at work when it's on the air. Then when I do get home, I have better things to watch then the late night news.

Sorry, my friend, but it was a combination of the two. If the Explorer didn't have such a high center of gravity and stability problems, the rollovers wouldn't have happened with a blowout. You didn't see blowouts causing wrecks like that with other trucks/SUVs using those tires.

What's your definition of "truck" compared to SUV? If it's just an open bed in the back...

Here's what I could find on the Focus recall(s):

Muahahahah...now you're talking!

Have you heard them in person? I loved my 4.1 ProMedia's with their puny 400 watts...they were the best part about my PC.
