Today I received the Speck Candyshell Clear case for the iPhone 6/6s. Since I doubt that my Air Jacket will fit on the 6s, this was going to be my primary case. I was quickly disappointed however, and the case will be going back.

The good: The case is very clear and feels like it would be very protective of the iPhone. All of the usual Candyshell features are here (raised edge to protect the screen while face down, excellent tactile buttons, etc). All of this makes it seem like a good choice for those wanting to both show off and protect their phone.

The bad: There are really only two things wrong with this case (or at least the one that I have). First is that the interior of the case is very sticky. I think it is supposed to be some sort of TPU, but it doesn't feel like TPU. The inside of my case already had plenty of dust when I opened up the package, along with a couple of smudges that I couldn't wipe out. The stickiness takes away any opportunity to wipe the inside of the case clean without adding even more dust and lint. The second thing that bothered me was the placing of the Speck branding on the back. On the website, the branding is in the middle of the case, and below the Apple logo when the phone is inside. The case that I received has the branding much higher up and on top of the Apple logo.

Now I'm not sure if I just got a bad case or not, so I'm curious to see if anyone else gets this case and has similar problems with it. If it seems like this was just part of a bad batch, I may reorder it in the future.

Here are a couple of pictures of the case I got:

If anyone else picks up this case, please let me know how it turns out.

Is it as difficult to remove as their old transparent cases were? I remember worrying that I was going to physically break my phone trying to take it off.

I never used any of their other clear cases before, so I can't compare it to those. However, you can remove it just like regular candyshell cases. There is a clear rubbery material at all four corners that make it easy to remove. It is much easier to remove than PowerSupport's Air Jacket.

Looks great thanks for posting.

Logo is the same on all previous speck cases so it's expected. Probably using the same mold.

They claim their new manufacturing technique resists yellowing. We'll see if it's true. I have the same case coming.

If it's not too much trouble, post some pics of yours when it comes in. I'm very curious whether other cases will have the logo in the same place as mine, or below the Apple logo like what is shown on the website.

I did send an email to Speck, and after they look at my pics, they may send a replacement.

I'll try to post an update if I get it replaced.

Yeah, that's too much hassle. Why bother buy one? I mean if you're not busy and you really love Speck then go for it.

Other than that, I don't see it worth my money and energy.

Just installed my clear speck and my apple logo is covered. I will be contacting them on Monday to see why the pictures do not match the product

Wow. Speck really dropped the ball on this. I was hoping that mine was a fluke or part of a bad batch, but since the logo is the same on yours, I'm not so sure now.

Is the inside of your case sticky too?

Yup. I got two. The volume on one of them is warped and not flat like the other with the 6s in.

You have it on the 6 in these pictures, right? What about the 6s? Have you tried it with that? I have this case coming Monday to review for the 6s Plus, and I'm very curious about the fit. Also, did you try removing the dust particles inside the case with tape or a dust removal sticker? I wonder whether that would help?

I will say it does appear they're using the same mold as their other candyshell cases. The branding on this clear case is the same placement as the branding on the grip on my 6s. I'm fairly certain my Apple logo is going to be covered by the clear case too.

Yes, the pictures above are of my iPhone 6, and I did try to use tape to get rid of the lint...it removes some of the larger pieces, but still doesn't work very well.

For comparison, here is the case on my 6s that I got yesterday.

I apologize for the quality of the pictures, but I had to take them with my iPad Air.

It is too bad about the Speck branding--they really should have done a better job with that.
How is the fit with the 6s as compared with the 6?

Will be interested in hearing your update. I got the same case today for the iPhone 6s Plus and the logo placement is exactly as you have pictured it. If they do not have a batch that has this corrected then I will likely return it. On a solid colored case it might not matter but on a clear case this is a huge design flaw.

Gotta say that branding imo is a misstep. A little lower would make a big difference
