Speck CandyShell

I disagree with the previous review. Just got mine today. IMO this is the best case I've seen yet. The plastic is a little on the harder side but at least your buttons will be safe. On the contrary I think the headphones port is larger than most cases are. I would say very few accompdate extra large port openings. This is large enough for regular vertical (apple) style and horizontal style headsets. I would say 99% shouldn't have any trouble. All of the ports are very accesible. Slim case with durability yet to be seen. The silent switch shouldn't be hard to access unless your fingers resemble something of Shreks.

Everything feels nice and I am extremly satisfied with the case.

I got my case about a week and a half ago. I ordered the White Truffle and Cranberry (White and red) so far I have mixed review about it.

As far as protection goes its superb. The softer rubber grips the phone tight while the hard polycarbonate protects it from drops and bumps.

But that's about where the good thing end.

I have been having problems with the rubber separating from the hard plastic. Causing the corners to split and the rubber rip.

This is mostly a problem if you like to switch out your cases because I have a feeling that after a few more swap outs the corners are going to fully fail.

The next problem I have with the case is the bottom near the home button and dock connector. It is a lot stiffer then my Capsule Rebel but then it has also failed. The hard plastic that bridges the corners has snapped and now it is just a matter of time before the rubber splits.

Not sure if I am the only one with these problems but thought I would let everyone know what I have experienced with the case.

Couldn't get a good Macro shot of the corners. But I assure you they are indeed splitting.

And yes I know it looks like something is growing in my dock connector port.
 
OMG man clean that thing. Looks like the Iphone is a little cracked as well, did it fall?

Never dropped it, I have the hairline cracks and the cracks at the dock connector and head phone jack like most other White iPhone 3g's. Should bring it back to Apple to have them replace it but its just going to happen again.. :(

I didn't drop the case either, it just naturally cracked like that.

I dont know about this case now, it gets good reviews but can possibly fall apart.

Its probably best if you put it on and leave it on. Maybe that one was a lemon but serious what good is a case that cost so much and breaks fairly easy.

I have a white iphone 3G without any cracks at all. Seriously. It is only a very small number of people who actually have the cracks. But of course, like everything else, you only hear those with the problems voicing their concerns here on the forums so everyone just assumes that it is a problem with every one of the white iphones. It isn't. Take it back to apple and get a replacement man. At the least, then you will have a clean dock connector. :D

I called customer service at speck and try gave me a full refund for the case and a couple coupon codes so I can get 50% off a new case if I decide to get another one. I might order another to see if it's just the one I got. Maybe the white ones crack just like the white iPhones. :)
 
ok great, now clean your ****ing phone. Seriously, I've never seen a nappy mess quite like that in an electronic device in all my life.

It usually never that dirty. I ran out of canned air.

I think I am going to order a green and gray. And maybe a yellow and black.
 
I'm only busting your chops. This case looks cool but the colors are awful to my eyes, I wish they had a solid black.

Just in case anyone didn't know, this case is almost a clone of the Marware Flexi-Shell except in ugly colors. Seriously, I have the Flexi Shell and it is the same material and fit as this case, but it comes in black, white and clear and is cheaper.

I'm sorry but the colors of this case are hideous.
 
mine came yesterday, it feels really solid and i like it, i think your case may have just been a fluke atom mine feels like it would take a lot to split the bottom part. the only complaint i have is i had to put my phone in 3 times in order to get the buttons aligned right, the first two times it was automatically pushing down on the volume, but once i got it right its basically great now. it takes a little getting used to not having to actually push any buttons.
 
I reordered the Green and Black case last night. I'm giving it a second go to see how it is. If it breaks again I will just return it. :)
