I only assumed that the Satin would be a little heavier then the regular SeeThru. On Speck's site it says, the "SeeThru Satin is made of our special hard polycarbonate plastic with an added soft-touch rubberized exterior coating..."
So i thought the added rubber would add some weight to the case...

Well if there is added weight, I doubt its anything significant.

Yeah, your probably right. Im still going to get the Satin version anyway. I have a thing for Matte :) . Just have to wait until speck gets the ones in stock that fit the new magsafe adapters.

Really..? can you post some links, please. I emailed Speck a few days ago and they said they were going to have the updated cases in stock in the near future, so i figured if they didn't have them yet i wouldn't bother checking anywhere else..

Edit_ Just seen your links, thanks.

Cool. But, are you sure these are authentic Speck products, and not fakes? I just find it odd that Speck themselves don't have them in stock, but all of these other retailers do...

I edited my last post, but to reiterate, Speck supplies their new cases to the apple stores and other retailers before they themselves get to stock them
Buy it from Amazon.com LLC, the $38.73 one, they sell nothing but legitimate products, I bought mine from them and it is indeed "not" a fake
plus they have fast processing and shipping, haven't dealt with the other sellers
Never have I been disappointed with an Amazon purchase

I dunno. I thought it was annoying with the added weight. To each their own though.

Well, I've had the 13 inch. What model do you have?
Also I only held the notebook up about twice, before I dented it and had to return it and buy a new one. Once I got the new one it didnt even get to breathe before I put the case on it. What I'm saying is that I dont know the difference between a mbp with or without a case, weight wise.

What I was comparing in the post you quoted however, was the added wait between the regular (?) Satin cases and the SeeThru Satin which is the one I have. I think if there were a weight difference, it wouldnt be significant. Only an opinion though.

Anyway, I have the case mentioned in the amazon link, great case (so far) Loving the black look.

It would be cool if some of u guys could post pictures of your mbp with a speck on.

And does anybody know where I can get a green speck seethru for new 15?

I'll have pics for you guys tomm. Just incase any of you guys are on the fence about buying.

For 15" just make sure you order the part number MB15AUSAT-BLK-D

The "D" at the end is the new version. Not sure about the 13".

Pics for you guys. You might even be able to see a fingerprint lol, those are crazy hard to get off of the case.

Also I had to reduce the quality to be able to fit the images on here. Also my first time posting pics on a forum, hope they work!

That looks absolutely gorgeous. Do you know if the blue light will pass through if you put an Apple Sticker over it? I like the Apple Logo in white, so I was thinking of putting one of the apple Stickers over it.

Yeah it looks good. If you get the Satin black case, not sure a sticker would stick to it too well.

i was going to buy a speck case for my 15'' mbp, but then i stumbled upon the iPearl mCover for about half the price. even though the price is cheaper the quality isnt. there are some negative reviews about how the bottom piece of the case doesnt lock on to the two upper corners of the mbp but its not even an issue. also that the top piece of the case is kinda arched in the center, but thats not even and issue either IMO.

also the bottom piece has two legs that extend out to help cool the mbp. very worth it you should check it out.

Lol their website is straight from the 90s. The case looks decent though. The bottom piece however leaves a lot of uncovered area to allow for heat dissipation. Since I am mainly getting the cover to avoid scratches, that kind of defeats the purpose for me.

I've been set on getting a speck see thru from day one.

Just 2 questions.
Would it be okay to throw in a backpack with dedicated laptop compartment without a sleeve?

Does it weigh down the screen and mess up the screen long term, or when u take it off?

It's fine to just throw it into a padded backpack.
It does weigh down the screen a little bit but there shouldn't be any ill effects

Has anyone tried both, SeeThru Satin, and regular SeeThru? Any differences in weight between the two?
