ya, it's a new ad formatting we're testing. They aren't entirely new. There were ads there before, they were just formatted differently.

arn

They get in the way and are confusing, misleading and annoying. I mean, imaging you are having a conversation with someone and all of the sudden they are selling you something while you were thinking you were talking about the issue, same thing.

The recoil you get is totally negative. Is intrusive. Too much desperation to make you click on something. Imagine having someone coming to your birthday party and start giving brochures to people about health insurance.

Or watching a movie and all of the sudden the actors are selling you something like in Truman Show.

I mean, banners have an space for them, when people wants something they look for it.

The way those adds are placed is totally abusive. 2 of them 4 answers apart. I was reading a post and all of the sudden I was reading this stupid banner who made me waste my time. The recall is not "oh cool", it is "piece of s***", that does not sell.

I was about to create thei thread but it was already created, imagine.

I suggest some other creative idea instead of this sort of advertising that does not give anything positive to the forum experience.

Other sites have similar but make it more obvious that they are ads by formatting them in a way that a normal user post cannot be. For example changing the background colour of the post. I think this would help...

Forums with ads anywhere near the posting areas is a no no. I notice them just as good at the top of the page and if they interest me I'd click the ad. However ads within the forum area on ANY site cause most users more annoyance and actually make me go on a forum less as it's tacky and just annoying in general.

I'm sure most people here agree.

Just noticed them today for the first time and hate them. I have no problem with the regular ads, but these sponsored posts just look like spam. Please get rid of these things, I am not likely to hang around this site much longer if they continue. If more ad revenue is needed, just put more regular ads on the site.

Ads should be clearly identified as ads. NOT disguised as forum posts.

It looks misleading and deceptive.

Not liking these new ads at all. The previous setup worked fine, as it is pretty annoying to follow a topic only to see an advertisement disguised as a forum post.

Can't stand it. The reason I liked Macrumors is because the Forums where driven by relevant content, not ad content.

At first it didn't bother me that much. I thought they were shown only on the first page of a thread but I now see them in every thread and on every page of a thread and it is in fact annoying.

I wouldn't mind seeing them once in a while, but not on every damn page in every thread.

also annoying when the post before the ad at the bottom says "today 3:45 pm" then the ad says "oct 23 5:45 pm" first time I was like wtf? ads from the future? then i was like "oh, it's oct 23 already?"

I'm getting them as the last post of almost every thread. Can't say I really noticed the advertising previously, whereas these are very in your face.

Not a change for the good in my eyes. Was the person responsible for iOS7 involved :D

Just came across two of those abominations in the same thread today and almost tapped on them by accident.

ONCE MORE: Stop that deceptive and dishonest "feature"; test time is over and members have responded. Just return to normal ads wherever you want and let us use the forum as we used to.
