View attachment 827866 View attachment 827867 View attachment 827868 I bought my 13” MacBook Pro in February 2018 with AppleCare. Last night,I closed my laptop screen. When I opened it this morning (in the same spot I closed it last night) there were colored lines running vertically and horizontally from a black spot in the bottom right corner. After taking it to an authorised care center (not the actual Apple care center/genius bar), the tech said it was caused from force and would not be covered under AppleCare. There is no external damage, and I merely shut the screen, so I have no idea how I could have caused this, as the tech is claiming. I have made an appointment with the actual AppleCare genius for next week, but in the meantime, has anyone else had a similar problem?
Hey I’m currently dealing with the exact same thing. My Macbook air screen looks EXACTLY like yours. I went to sleep with the laptop open woke up in the middle of the night and closed it. I opened it back up and boom there was a crack. How do two laptops get the exact same crack. Something tells me this is just an issue these laptops have. I went to the apple store and because I have Apple care they said it would be $99. He said it was probably just the LCD screen. I got an email that they were requoting me but I can’t see why on the repair status website. I didn’t reply on time so they sent it back unrepaired to the apple store and now I’m just waiting for them to call me and see what’s going on. Did you ever get yours resolved?

I also forgot to mention that I have the same exact lines as you do but now it went from working and having those lines for a couple days to going completely black. If I close and open my laptop really fast it will work but only lasts 30 seconds before it goes all black again. Now I have to edit by mirroring my mac to my Samsung TV and it’s just a pain..
Yes mine too. It switches between having the lines and going completely black.

This also happend to my macbook pro 2017, I have fixed broken iphones since iphone 4 came out, this is very strange since this happend in the middle of watching a movie, the laptop was standing still and nothing was touching the screen. I imagine if you hit a glass window with a hammer it should break instantaneous, not 12 hours later. Theres definitely a design flaw here, I want check the t-con board if it has burned out then somehow causing a pixel to blow out inside the screen, or maybe the top lid or hinges has deformed and causing the inside lcd displey inside the screen to crack
