uninstalled and re-installed 5 times. it keeps freezing at the end of the patch. then when i try to load the game anyway it tells me it cannot connect to the servers.

ugh.

When you say it freezes, is it crashing and giving you the error report box or does it just lock up? On mine, even though it only took about 25 minutes for the patch, a big portion of that was the patch utility seeming 'stuck' at a certain point the progress report, maybe 15 of those 25 minutes.

You could try deleting the .plist file, worth a shot.

I really hope it works for you! Best wishes!

Um..wasn't there something about SecuROM not letting you install the game too many times? (Since it's saying it cannot connect to the servers)

From what I understand, the installer limitations only apply to different machines, not individual installations. So if you reinstall something on the same machine, it doesn't count against your "installations".

And is SecuROM even present in the Mac version? I didn't see anything in the installer that notified me of anything like that...

i have a mac mini intel core2duo , 1.83 ghz, 1gb ram.
no windows license, so no bootcamp play. And osX 5.5

CAN I PLAY SPORE, the FULL VERSIOn on any way...?
(change . plist?)
on my mac mini
is there any insurance?
(i normally speak Dutch so sorry for any possible errors)

mmm, ok but if it runs at the same quality and speed
as in the creature creator.
Then it will not bother me. but does it run at the same quality...

Im trying to get spore running under osx on a 950 Macbook

what about vmware fusion 2.0 or parrallels 4? They support directx and openGL so can I play the game via either of them?

Or have I missed the boat and there is a mini-like patch for the macbook to run it nativly?

(my girlfriend REALLY wants to play this game under osx so any help will be greatfully recived!!!)

The patch that came out a while ago solved a lot of graphics issues on my 950.

i've been playing Spore on my Macbook 1.8 for a few weeks now.

I'm almost all the way through the game and can't say i've noticed really any flaws.

plays well.

Of course i only tried it on BootCamp.

i wonder how it would play using the new version of Parallels (4.0)

Spore works fine on Mac Mini

My Mac mini (OS X 10.5.6m 1.8 Ghz C2D, and 1GB RAM) plays Spore fine, it is set up to an Olvia 37" LCD (which is also my primary TV) with a VGA cable, which I'm switching over to HDMI with the DVI adapter.

The only way it will run on my Mac mini (it is stock, NO hacks) is if my display is set to 800 x 600 and 75mhz, given that I've logged hours of entertainment.:D
