At my try on today I asked and the rep said it was 2 straps
I asked "so literally 4 pieces" as i almost mimed next to the watch, and he said yes
so to reiterate i asked "so i could swap with someone"
"Yes" he said, "so long as its the same size watch"

- this was the Edinburgh store. So either he's clueless or he's telling us the truth lol

Actually the rep just likely read "Two bands" on the website and just assumed incorrectly that it is 2 complete bands. So that makes them "clueless" and "telling the truth" (as they incorrectly believe it to be).:D

i plan to use Bandswapper.com

For what? Are you going to wear 2 different colors?:D

no, the sport comes with 2 bands, 1 you will not use bc its either 2 big or 2 small...so i will swap it with bandswapper, so when my band gets old, or worn down, i'll have a brand new one that is my size...

Please point out these 2 complete bands.:D

It is 2 bands (3 pieces) and NOT 2 complete bands.

1) Pin strap and 1) S/M hole strap and 1) M/L hole strap, 3 pieces. This is clearly shown in the picture.

The SS model just says "band". Does that still come with a s/m and m/l attachment?

Click on any Sport edition in the store and it says:
What’s in the box
Apple Watch
Magnetic charging cable
USB power adapter
Two bands
Quick start guide

So, two of the same color band? Can I trade one band in for a different color? Does this mean the rubber bands aren't very durable?

Can they be considering the 2 bands as in the 2* that go in either side of the watch making the whole strap? What if they have to be extra descriptive because of California legalities and frivolous lawsuits.

It has to, as the website shows it to "Fit 140-210mm wrists." Can't do that with just one band and a fastener, and there are no two separate models in each of the 38mm and 42mm sizes, respectively.

They should have put "One set of band" under the general descriptions for both Watch Sport and Watch.

Yes, the descriptions were probably written by 2 different teams. 3 pieces for 2 bands leaves it up to interpretation and neither 1 band nor 2 bands is completely correct (or wrong). Hopefully someone at Apple will notice the discrepancy and unify the descriptions in some way.

It's pretty incredible that the Bandswapper people decided to make an entire business plan based on a misunderstanding of what was included with the watches.

I don't know why it's so hard to believe that Apple wouldn't include two complete bands. What is their incentive to include and extra band with a pin when all they need to do is include two bands in different sizes? It would save them money, increase their profit having people buy a new band....

I don't see how anyone can make any logical sense that apple would include literally two whole bands. Even if the packaging is not labeled the best..

Is the site in your signature any good? You plan on swapping too?

I'm not going to lie. I set up the site to put people in touch with others who wanted to swap. It's already matched lots of people across the country. It's completely free and so you've got nothing to lose by trying it. I know of at least two others that charge for this service...good luck to them both, but I'd rather get it for free

So how does it work? Once people are matched do you they act their own or does your site play the middleman? Also what are your thoughts on the sport only coming with 3 pieces and not 2 full bands.

Not sure what your post means as it should be clear by now that band swapping is impossible. There's nothing to "try."

nothing is impossible..don't you know that?

you CAN swap your unused small/medium part with someone else who wants it, and in return you can have their medium/large part...you get a spare...yes, it's half a band, but so what? maybe you want a spare or maybe you want to mix and match colours?

I don't play the middleman at all..the site matches you directly with someone who wants what you have...

I understand the watch only comes with 3 parts...but why not swap the bit you dont want for a spare bit you do...or to mix and match colours as in the old days of the swatch

Okay, so maybe that'll work with the under 20 crowd after some kids make it cool and start the trend, but most adults won't likely do that.

Either way, don't do the half a band swap before the 14-day return period lest you change your mind.
