I know the sport addition has its place but IMO it just looks cheap around the edges and resembles more of a knock off version. I enjoyed trying on the stainless but the sports edition I would never own

Funny to hear it described that way. I too noted the step down in "fit and finish" as compared to the SS Watch, but I didn't think "knock off." Makes sense though. Kinda funny.

I left with the same impression. I felt like it didnt deserve to be in the drawer with the other watches.

Sports edition looks cheap and like a knockoff

Just looks like a knock off to me on the edges the screen looks good though. Even the crown looks like it's going to fall off or something. Just cheap looking I guess

That's on my 12 yr old wrist and this versions seems appropriate for her...

i went to check them out in store and I kinda agree.

the aluminum finish looks more hard plastic than actual metal, especially on the harder silver finish (space grey looks better)

the crown itself doesn't have the textile feel I thought it would. I was expecting mechanical clicks when I turn it. but there isn't any... that's when it hit me that this is a digital watch, not the same as my Omega or even my Seiko

I don't wear the back of my iPhone on my wrist

The back of an iPhone 6 sure does! The face is gorgeous. But the backside of an iPhone hasn't looked/fet premium since the iPhone 4s.

What to you defines "premium" Are Macs not premium because they're aluminum?

I bet the edition owners think both the sport and steel versions loon cheap.

They look cheap because they are.

If apple had switched the sports and the steel in price right from the beginning, many people might bot feel that way.

Remember when it comes to million dollar cars and airplanes aluminium is more premium to steel.

Please buy the stainless. Hopefully the one close to $1000. In a year I'll have my second generation sports edition and wouldn't have paid $1000 with two versions combined.

This ain't no Rolex ... and I already have two of those. Spending more than a few hundred dollars on this type of technology for aesthetics is insanity at best.

I'm not going to comment either way, as I haven't yet seen the watch in person, but I will say that I'm looking forward to receiving my choice of Apple watch, even though, according to 2 threads on here, I've ordered the cheap ass knockoff version with the girly (green) strap. :)

I'll comment. It's great that you think the sport watch looks cheap and a knockoff. I'm sure many think that any watch that isn't gold looks cheap and like a knockoff as well.

It' s a 1st gen product, and i can't justify $600 - so i guess i'm stuck with a cheap piece of junk that i'm actually really excited about getting. My $30 levi jeans may look like trash to you with your $400 pair of jeans, but it's what i can afford.

Enjoy your caviar - i'm getting chipotle.

Textile? You thought the crown would be made of fabric? This thread is exhausting.

I ordered the Sport with white band, and I'm super excited, not worth to me $200 extra especially when in a year a new one will be out.

The sapphire alone is worth the 200. Then you have the ceramic back and the strength of SS, I'd rather have a scratch than a dent
