I put the Aluminum and Stainless Steel models side by side, and that shine on the Stainless Steel model really makes the Aluminum version seem toyish. I still have trouble swallowing the $200 difference, and I'm still considering the fact that it's a first-gen device, so I'm probably going to stick it out with Aluminum. I've yet to see how different Ion-X and Sapphire glass are in a real-world scenario.

The apple watch is a better built watch then the sport material wise. The sport I think would be fine as a workout type watch like the name implies. Idk how well it will hold up as a real everyday watch.

I thought the weight was perfect for what I will use it for (which is everything, including working out). And I was pleasantly surprised by the sport band - it felt very high quality and was much nicer than I was expecting.

I agree, I have a bunch of nice watches, and that was one of the softest rubber straps I've ever worn. Mine fit perfectly when I went to try it on.

I tried the space grey and loved it. I thought that pictures don't do it justice.

I would be happy with that and a leather loop band but I alreayd ordered the SS w/ Milanese.

As soon as my tax-time cash crunch resolves, I'll be getting the silver Sport, probably with a black band. Reasoning: Though I really like the Space Grey, and it would be my first choice, the silver will show scratches less, and probably less than the shinier stainless models. Since I keep watches for a long time, this is a concern. Light weight is a big plus for me too.

The sport watch is meant to be light it's one of the selling points

The band felt like an incredible value. It fit perfectly, was very comfortable, and a new band is 50

I've spent 100-150 on G shock watches and the strap doesn't compare in terms of feel, overall quality and durability is to be seen. Very happy I haven't purchased a new watch since apple watch was announced

I like the way the apple sports look. It has more of a laid back style. The other watches look expensive (and they sure are) but thats just me.

I got the 42mm sport edition blue band.

I was originally going to go with the black Sport and black band, but after trying it on, it just felt cheap to me. I just never wear aluminum watches and I am used to steel. It is meant for sports and that is why it is lighter than others. I loved the look of the black on black, and my only other option was the black link on the black SS, but it's too much money. I am set on the silver stainless Watch with black sport band, as I like my watches to have some weight on them.

Breaking news the $600 watch looks better then the $400 watch. I'm so happy Apple is committed to different price points. By the way both watches do the same things at the same speeds.

I'm getting the stainless steel with Classic Band and 2 metal bands (Milanese Loop and Link) but tried on the Sport watch and thought it was fine. Sure, it's lighter, but if a watch is properly fitted you barely notice it is there, anyway. I found the Sport band about as well-fitted as the Classic band. The Milanese Loop is the best for a "perfect" fit, but the Sport is fine. The sport band, while not "luxurious" is better than what I was expecting.

So I finally went into the Apple store today to try on the Apple Watch Sport. I don't know if it's because it's a demo version or because I'd just taken off a big mechanical watch, but the Apple Watch Sport felt really light and seemed to badly fit. Tried both sizes but it just didn't sit right for me.

The band felt cheap, too. Is it just me or have others felt the same? Will the version that is shipped feel different?

Nope. Felt good, light, and the aluminum looked better than it does in the photos. I bought an SS because I want sapphire.

Can people post more pics of the black sport with black leather?

You could save $185 by purchasing a sterling silver case for $15 from Amazon.

Or you could even look like you're wearing the $10,000 Edition model with a 'champagne gold' case.

that has a satin silver finish which is MUCH closer to looking like the same aluminum finish of the sport than the SS polished silver look.

Yeah I mean the sport watch would probably fall apart into a million pieces of you tried to use it as an everyday watch.

The Sport looked great (Space Gray too) and the SS looked great (the Space Black looked greater :D).

The Sport felt fantastic (the fluoroelastomer's earn the fancier name:eek:) and the SS felt fantastic with the Leather Loop and Milanese Loop.

There were no poor chooses to me.

Personally, I think the sport looks better than the SS for one reason - fingerprints.

The SS will look lovely when it's just been polished. After a few hours of greasy fingerprints? I don't think so.

Sorry, I'm just testy because I ordered at 3am and still have to wait until May 13th.

Haha I was just making fun of the kid that said "oh man I don't know how well the sport would hold up as an everyday watch". Lol what a dumb comment.

I got my email confirmations at 3:02 and 3:03 for my 42mm sport with 4/24-5/8 delivery.
