Spotify is a failure of a company. They haven't changed their app in years, and who gives a **** whether Apple favors its own servers?

Another whining, salty, sore loser

Spotify...any plans on releasing an Apple Watch app that streams straight from the cloud?

What a whiner. How about focusing on improving your own product so consumers will want to buy that over the competition.
You could say that about Apple, too. Apple Arcade is an also-ran, Apple TV+ isn't worth paying month-to-month for at ALL, and without too much trouble you can get Apple Music free from the cell carriers, if you want its brokenness.

Oh, and you can get 50gb of iCloud storage for 99c.

Apple is bundling these not as a premium thing, but trying to make it look like there's sufficient value that it's worth giving them any services money at all.

What's stopping Amazon from doing this though? They have Kindles and Fire TVs that use Fire OS so it's not like there is much really stopping Amazon from creating a phone that uses everything they've already made.

Amazon had a phone, the Fire Phone, it was a colossal failure:

Pretty sure amazon designed their Fire Tablets, Kindles, and Alexa speakers. Sure the fire tablet runs android, but it’s a custom version from Amazon. Try again.

And what's their market share? That actually has a lot to do with what a company is allowed or not today (Microsoft learned that the hard way, and they didn't even make the Hardware then).

As opposed to Spotify which aims to cause irreparable harm to musicians by dramatically low-balling them even by the meagre standards of streaming payments and recently suggested that artists should essentially **** out music with greater regularly, as though it’s factory produced and not a creative endeavour.

Maybe just maybe it is because, Apple produces the Hardware, the OS and bundle their services, while Amazon does not.......just a little "maybe"
Don’t even try. Amazon makes hardware too. Heck you can even get an Alexa Buick SUV now.

Apple doesn’t get a dime of my Disney bundle or Amazon subscription.

Yes, because you decide to do it not on the device. If someone wants the convenience of subscribing on their Apple device, they must pay for it. Well, Music already comes on the device.

Same argument on Internet Explorer being packed on Windows lawsuit.

It’s not consumer friendly. Apple Music used to cost me $10 a month which was already higher than I wanted to pay. Now Apple wants me to pay $15 a month just for Apple Music because I wouldn’t be using the other services.

Apple One may make sense for some but for me it’s trash.
This plus the lack of X-Cloud support.... ANDROID is looking better and better each day.

I never everrrrrrr thought about leaving Apple before and here we are.:(

You are not being forced to move to an Apple One bundle. If you are only interested in one of Apple's services, then you'll be able to just pay for that.

Guys, this is anticompetitive. All of the tech giants are copying smaller companies products and then bundling them together with their existing products and platforms and selling them super cheap. They are using their domination in one market to enter and crush smaller competitors in another. Then the prices will rise.

Really, that would be news to Alexa... Let me ask her on my Amazon Echo... She's says she's too busy streaming Amazon Prime music to consider such nonsense.

And they're right. Apple shills are going to stay with only Apple services and those Apple decides to do "special deals" with.
I'm an "Apple shill" because I decide to use services that were specifically designed with all of my devices in mind? Spotify just doesn't offer the same interoperability between my phone, watch, and Mac that Apple Music does and them complaining about it isn't going to change that.

So just going to ignore its the exact same if you use FireTV?

No, it's not important here. If you want to talk about anti-competitive behavior in general, then yes, it's bad. All anti-competitive behavior is bad and there is a reason that it is monitored

I don't believe there's any price increase for Apple Music, so not sure what you're talking about.

Only reinforces why I don't subscribe to Spotify. As someone invested in the Apple Infrastructure, this makes perfect sense. I never understood why I need to be billed five time a month!

Only folks I see that will be harmed is any other music / video streaming service. At $14.95 and get cloud Storage, Apple Music, and Apple TV+, that’s a pretty good deal. Although I think the cloud capacity should be at least 100GB this day in age.

Everyone calling Spotify, "just a bunch of whiners" have no idea what anti-competitive behavior entails. Apple controls the hardware, the OS, and the app store. And if you want to play in their world, you have to pay. That by itself is legally okay. But when the same company also promotes their own services that compete against others in the ecosystem while using their stranglehold on the ecosystem to benefit that service, that is an issue worthy of an anti-competitive investigation.

I’m really struggling to see what the basis is for their argument here?

They're afraid people will switch over to Apple Music for the better value.
Apple Music + Arcade + iCloud Storage = roughly the same price as Spotify

But Google has been bundling Google Play Music with Youtube Red (now Youtube Music with YT Premium) for years, and their subscriber count is still low.

ha..cry me a river!...oh we should feel so sorry for poor Spotify!...if anyone is getting screwed by all these companies in an unfair way it's musicians/artists providing the content for which they're all cashing in!...the focus HAS to be on making these models more equitable for musicians!
