"Apple needs to play fair!"
Yeah, okay...
Yeah, okay...
It's a desperate attempt to keep themselves afloat. While I like Spotify as a service and have been a premium user for years, I think its days might be numbered. They kind of put all their eggs in one basket. Both Apple and Google and Amazon have other products and services they can integrate with, whereas Spotify does not. I myself am increasingly considering making the move to Apple Music for streaming and discovery, everything else I buy on vinyl anyway.
Apple Music closed the gap with Spotify in the last few years and I moved back late last year having been a Spotify user since around 2010 - and haven’t looked back.
haha Spotify has made like $3 profit in the whole time theyve been operational.Market leader using their power to make their service worse for users, at the detriment of competitors.
How is this worse for Spotify users?
In the interim, is there any way to shift playlists to other streaming services? Thinking of doing so before they clamp down hard.
Can it even be done the other way? Apple to Spotify?
i'm not sure if it is anti-competitive. It's hypocritical for sure. And a big nail in the coffin for any accusations against Apple. You can't say with a straight face that Apple is anti-competitive and this action isn't. Since I think that Apple doesn't act in an anti-competitive way, I'd have to think very hard about analysing this. Sorry, can't do it. Too overwhelmed by the hypocrisy to give a fair assessment. Any lawyers here might have the mental ability to tell us.Isn't this in itself anti-competitive? Guess they realize at the end of the day it's all about their bottom line. Anyways, I'm glad I used SongShift just in time for my return to Apple Music from Spotify weeks ago.

Because if you want to use multiple services, or to try something else for a bit, it's not as easy to transfer your playlists. Not exactly rocket surgery here.
Of course you can switch out of their service. You just can't use Spotify's SDK to transfer Spotify's content to another service.I was seriously considering switching to Spotify, but key to that decision was knowing I could easily switch out of that service if I ever wanted to. Sounds like Spotify is telling me not to bother trying.
When you want to switch. Or are you saying just be loyal and don’t switch? How is this worse for Spotify users?
