Just switch to Tidal using Soundiiz. Tidal's apps are a bit more clunky than Spotify's but the whole experience is about the same, and cheaper.

but so much love for apple, even though you still only get 5 GB of icloud even if you have multiple iPhones/iDevices.
But, in the UK, for £16.99 you can have 2Tb of iCloud storage for 6 people and, unlike with some providers, they can all be at different addresses. I have no quarrel with that and it ensures that everyone's photos and much more are shared and backed up.

apple doesn't offer a free/ad tier and if you want the artist to get more of your money, it is better to go-to their concerts or buy their merchandise at the concerts.

The two are not mutually exclusive. You can subscribe to Apple Music, and still strive to support your favourite artistes via other avenues.

I am using YouTube Music because that is what comes bundled with my YouTube Premium subscription, but the experience definitely hasn’t been great. Google’s music streaming apps definitely feel pretty barebones as far as features go, I wish they supported Shortcuts, and there are definitely more third party Apple Music apps available.

For all its flaws and shortcomings, Apple Music definitely feels like a more native iOS app and that, I appreciate.

Spotify is trash and the Apple Music algorithm is much better.

The desktop app does have more features than Apple Music tho.

The only reason I keep Spotify is I'm on an older plan which includes Hulu for free and I have a lot of playlists on Spotify and whenever I freelance I use Spotify since I don't have the option to use Apple Music on company machines.

What the hell is Spotify spending all their money on? I still can't play songs from Spotify on my HomePod without it using my iPhone.
They’re working on algorithms that ensure that the fewest amount of different artists are ever played (just the big ones) so they don’t have to pay out. 🙂

Spotify hasn’t allowed in-App purchases for account signups since way back in 2016 when they had 1/10th the number of total users.

The only people who were still paying through Apple were those “grandfathered” who signed up before 2016.

Of course the liar Daniel Ek went on and on about having to pay 30% to Apple when those subscribers only paid 15% due to recurring subscriptions and their numbers were a minuscule fraction (less than 1%) of paid users. Grandfathered users were “transferred” in 2023.
And, it’s good to remember that this did NOT yield greater choice. Those who prefer to use Apple’s IAP’s are unable to.
