Is this not happening? I’ve been waiting and hoping for this event. My ancient SE is hanging on by a thread.

Doubt it as if we were meant to get the invites then they would be out already. There is a chance for tomorrow invites but its not looking good

Given current events perhaps they decided that having an “event” was in poor taste. They could still announce the new products next week via press release, etc.

No way they'd skip the event.
It could be possible they delayed it a week as it wasn't the best idea to be hosting an event now.

Not trying to belittle current events at all (I have eight news feeds open right now, trying to keep up with what is happening in the Ukraine), but you all realize the Russia/Ukraine conflict/war is only one of twenty-seven ongoing conflicts/wars in the world right now, yeah...?

If you are on top of the news like you claim, you would also know that this war has the potential to become a world war with possible nuclear weapons being used, which could mean the end of an entire continent. So yeah… it is a bit more impactful.

funny how Gurman etc. milk the 8th March and now that it seems that its not happening there is no word from him and others. Clickbaits as usual

It's interesting to me how Apple is much better setup now to push back an event than they were only a few years ago. Before the new campus, they would have had to reserve a venue well in advance to hold an event. Now, they could have almost the entirety of the presentation in the can and still move the event back for whatever reason.

I think Gurman's got enough credibility to believe that some source told him Apple was planning an event for March 8th. That source could have been wrong, of course, but Apple could have easily decided within the past week to push the event back because of world events or inventory problems or any of a myriad number of reasons.

Absolutely delighted to be wrong here. Excited for the event. :)
