I used to always exceed my 2GB plan on AT&T until I upgraded to the 10 GB plan. Now I can't exceed 2GB no matter what I do. Makes me think AT&T was padding data in order to get me to upgrade.

It's pronounced "Gor-Don"....

I wish the carriers would spend less time offering high-end "deals" to separate customers from thousands of dollars annually, and offer some packages designed for people who don't want unlimited talk time and hundreds of gigabytes of data per year on multiple phones.

On nearly all of the plans offered, if you don't use your phone for lots of voice time, you still have to pay for it. It's bundling, as bad as cable companies forcing customers to subscribe to the Golf Channel, the Hitlery Channel, and Empty-Vee if they want to watch HBO.

Just out of curiosity, what are your plans terms? Lines, data cap, minutes, etc... Hows coverage over there?

Id just like to compare to see how much the plans are really different between the US and Europe.

iPhone 5, 79€ (one time payment)
35€ a month for 24 months gets me:
unlimited text and calls (throughout the EU and some additional countries)
1.2 GB of LTE before i get throttled (still unlimited after)
cant think of how much data i get in the EU but i dont really have use for that so i dont know

Nexus 4
5 GB LTE data for FREE (480€ payment by Vodafone - 19,99€ x 24 a month)

iPad 3, 32 GB Wifi + Data, 180 Euro (one time payment)
500 mb 3G (11€ x 24 month)

those american combo plans and packages look way to confusing judging from that screenshot

It's not a bad deal if you're actually in an area where they have good service. Their network is the main problem rather than their prices but I applaud this as a step in the right direction.

The tiny, itty bitty, disclaimer at the bottom leaves me like - "what?"

I'll stick to AT&T and prevent kittens from dying while I'm at it.

That's the problem (and I must admit this as a Sprint customer), leaving my state service is VERY spotty. It annoys the crap out of me, but you can't beat the price. I pay $65 a month for unlimited everything.

Sprint will never be a compelling option at those prices. 10 GB of shared data is more than enough for most people. The people who do want more than 10 GB want a lot more than 10 GB (read: unlimited). Doubling it just doesn't make a difference.

If they really want to be competitive, they need to undercut T-Mobile with better pricing. Don't give more for the same price (making it cost "less"), make it actually cost less. Sprint's network is the worst of the major four carriers and they need to price their plans accordingly. If customers have to compromise on quality by switching to Sprint, they should be able to save a few dollars while doing so.

So what's the price after 2015?

$100 + $15/line (with Easy Pay) + Easy Pay Payment (iPhone 5s is $27.09/month)

OR

$100 + $40/line (subsidized, no Easy Pay)

So for a family of 4 getting 20GB on Easy Pay that would be $268.36 or $67.09 per person per month. For a family of 4 with subsidized phones, it would be $260 ($100+$40/line) or $65 per person. Plus all the taxes and what not. Not terrible, but not super mind blowing either.

Why do wireless packages have to be so expensive....seems like if you have a smartphone, no matter what...you can't find a reasonable plan costing less than $60 a month, and that's if you chop off unlimited messaging and use the lowest data plan available.

Even then, it's too expensive for me.

I decided to pay out my contract with AT&T and terminate.

Right now I don't have a cell phone. It's just too expensive.

I'm not paying $1200/year for cell service!

Competition is a good thing! Now let's see what AT&T and Verizon will do!

I just had my friend do a speed test. I did 39 down and 18 up. with a ping of 39 through ATT.

Sprint did .09 down and .59 up. 658 ping.

Yea, you can keep your unlimited or 20GB shared Sprint. You guys are garbage.

Like I always tell my Sprint friends, there is a reason they offer unlimited data......the quality is poor.

Personally, I rather have a nice steak at a upscale restaurant than go to a all you can eat buffet and eat the steak they serve there.

Look, I'm just gonna be honest and tell you guys straight up that Sprint sucks. This isn't earth shattering news. Their network is crappy. They can have the cheapest plans available but if you can't use your data on your phone when you need it, what's the point? My city is 98% complete with the Sprint LTE rollout yet the coverage feels more like 5%. Yes, I see LTE spots from time to time traveling around the city but most places I frequent is 3G coverage. Let's don't even talk about Sprint's 3G. My wife kept thinking the iPhone sucked because she couldn't do anything on it when she is out and about. She learned it was the network.

Trust me on this, avoid the headache. Sprint's Community forums will tell you all you need to know if you don't believe me.

Wow!!!! I am switching my family from AT&T unless they start offering even bigger discounts!!!!

:cool::cool::cool:

Stop all this. Sprint is the L33T,,,,,,!,;)

Need att to listen

Doesn't matter how cheap or amount of data they give you if you can't get a signal. Their coverage is crap.

New Family Throttling Plan:

Upgrades available for additional 1MB units for the low low price of $10 each.
