No text in this plan? What happened to the " true unlimited " carrier that always talks about giving all they can. Regardless I'm switching to them from AT&T but I thought it would be 69$ for unlimited data & SMS. Unless data in their eyes means web & SMS? Help anyone?

The answers you seek are at http://www.sprint.com

Unlimited messaging (domestic) is included with the $69.99 and $99.99 plans.

Will Sprint allow unlimited tethering for a fee?

5gb tethering limit then throttled after that. Cost is $30 I believe.

----------

Given the fact that they knew when the iPhone even was going to be, Sprint should have taken advantage of all the publicity from yesterday and have launched their promotions in the afternoon.

Looks like they dropped the ball on that one.

They spent all their money buying iPhones. Now they can't afford to update their website lol

That's definitely a lot less than the $100+/- per iPhone I roughly pay on my currently family plan with AT&T.

My current bill for 2 iPhone 4's plus a dumbphone = $230 a month or so.

My Verizon bill is $253 something a month for 2x iPhone 4, 1x Droid, 2 dumb phones. 1,500 shared minutes and unlimited txt.

The iPhone seems to be the way to phase out unlimited data. Get it while you can! Oh wait, it doesn't matter because once you cross the 2GB "limit" you get throttled.

Sprint is the only company not to throttle so that is incorrect. They may change that rule depending on how many people start using a lot of bandwidth.

People say there are only 450 minutes...but UNLIMITED mobile to mobile...so I doubt most people talk aver 450 minutes to a landline.

I'm on a family plan with Verizon. I have Unlimited Text, Data, and share 1400 minutes with all 5 people on my family plan.

We have 10 landlines added to our plan (we get those for free) and have free Verizon to Verizon calling.

All together it cost $213 a month...is that a good deal?

I'm on with my parents so they foot the bill. But I don't know if a better long term plan would be to go with Sprint for $69.99.

Let me know what you think.

Yeah I'd say you're getting a pretty good deal. For comparison, me and 3 friends share an AT&T plan with 700 anytime, unlimited mobile to ANY mobile, and unlimited texting for $178. Includes a 25% discount on texting and minutes from my company. Also includes 2 $25 data plans and one $15 (fourth phone is dumbphone).

One thing to consider about Sprint when considering costs - currently their pricing doesn't include a $10 "smartphone fee" that is added onto each line. So for one iPhone, it'd actually be $79.99 before taxes/other fees are added in.

According to someone i know who works at Sprint, and a friend who uses Sprint, you can talk and use your data at the same time. Even if I don't get an iPhone, I'll probably be getting Sprint. Just saying.

I think texting is included. I don't think I've ever paid extra for unlimited texting with Sprint. They've always had the best 'deal.'

Sprint has been surprisingly quiet since yesterday considering that it has reportedly committed to purchase billions of dollars' worth of iPhones from Apple, with no mention of the iPhone yet appearing on the carrier's website.

Crazy! This is ether bad business or they are hiding something. Why would not start tell everyone that you are now offering the iPhone. Look at At&t and Verizon. Go to there website and one of the first things you will see is "Get your iPhone 4s". So where's Sprint? I even got a email from Ebay telling me to sell me old phone so I can get a the new iPhone. Again i ask where is Sprint. Go to there website and it say nothing. If it did not say it on Apple's website "coming soon" i would think it was just a big joke.

I will be preordering and switching to Sprint because of this. Why would I stay on AT&T and pay more for less and be capped at 2gigs. Hello Sprint and new iPhone :$

Simultaneous voice and data on sprint requires a 4G/WiMax-enabled device and connection. If you're on the 3G EV-DO network, you can only do one at a time...

There is a $10 premium fee if you have a smartphone or a 4g phone, so it will actually be $79 a month. I highly doubt that Sprint would waive this for the iPhone but that would be awesome if they did.

Also, for those of you that go the Sprint route (like I will be doing) check to see if you can get a discount from your work or school. The University I go to gives me an 18% discount off of Sprint's service, so it's only $65 a month before taxes and fees. My job also may give me a discount (though I could only use one I'm assuming.) The discounts range from 5-25% off (some of the 25% off that I've heard of were Chase Bank and government jobs)

The only thing to consider is that you will possibly have higher data speeds with ATT due to the dual antenna working better with ATT. Also I am a bit nervous that Sprint will not be building/upgrading as many towers due to how much money they are sinking into the iphone deal.

Also, Sprint will charge you an extra $5 a month if you choose to not have automatic billing with them. They call it a credit fee even though you still have to pay by a specific date each month.

Well it may be bad to not hop on it right away... but who knows what they have planned. They probably know that those of us that will be right away converts already know... and are just waiting to order it.

I'll be changing over just because where I actually use my phone in Denver... I usually get 25 - 75 Kbps on AT&T.

So even slower network might end up being better... I hope.

I'm mad at my "unlimited" AT&T plan now throttling my data because I'm in the top 5% of users.

Good, we are all mad that someone's using over 5-10+ per month and then whining about it.
You might think that streaming porn and torrents is your god given right, but it isn't, it has consequences, but unfortunately not ones that involve legs being broken...yet.

The speeds are my main concern, and I know it will be slower than my AT&T. I travel a lot and use the 3G a lot for Hulu, Netflix, HBO go, etc. But on the other hand, I am sick of having to watch my data and know I can't use my phones abilities after a few movies over Netflix. Plus my bill will be cheaper.

Yup no wifi. I was talking to my dad and looking up a store online while in a car. No 4g available and I have the widgets for wifi and 3g on my home screen only 3g was on.

You, sir, have just accomplished the impossible.

Sorry, simultaneous voice and data over a 3G CDMA network is technically impossible.

The discount only applies to the plan cost, and not the $10 premium fee per month. So, your discount equates to $57.39 ($69.99 - 18%) + $10 fee = $67.39 (not including taxes). Still not a bad deal at all.

They are getting tons of publicity right now as it is, and they'll probably be short on supply initially anyway... sounds like wasted advertising dollars at this point.

I have AT&T (Nexus S). I also had an affair with Sprint about 5 months ago. AT&T's 3G network is LOADS faster than run of the mill EVDO 3G. I could not stream Slingbox or Netflix on Sprint's 3G network at all. It was a blocky mess.

Ended up returning equipment to Sprint and canceling within the 30-day window. Simply put, AT&T's 3G network speeds will always smoke a CDMA network's 3G speeds. Period.

lol i pay 40 $ unlimited text, phone, data incl. tethering and the iPhone 4 was only 99 $ :p

and thats actually a expensive one

Interesting, guess I don't remember the exact situation than.
So no talk and surf on Verizon or Sprint. Bummer.
