I'm mad at my "unlimited" AT&T plan now throttling my data because I'm in the top 5% of users.
I can't imagine how you use so much data.

No text in this plan? What happened to the " true unlimited " carrier that always talks about giving all they can. Regardless I'm switching to them from AT&T but I thought it would be 69$ for unlimited data & SMS. Unless data in their eyes means web & SMS? Help anyone?

The speeds are my main concern, and I know it will be slower than my AT&T. I travel a lot and use the 3G a lot for Hulu, Netflix, HBO go, etc. But on the other hand, I am sick of having to watch my data and know I can't use my phones abilities after a few movies over Netflix. Plus my bill will be cheaper.
The only appeal Sprint's network has ever had to me is the WiMAX 4G. However, with LTE rolling out, that appeal has lessened significantly. The iPhone won't support their WiMAX network, so essentially they are telling their customers to go with CDMA 3G. For Verizon, this can make sense since Verizon has very broad coverage even in rural areas even if the speeds are slower than AT&T. However, Sprint is lacking in both speed and coverage compared to their competitors (if you exclude WiMAX). I can't see folks jumping to Sprint, but I can see Sprint retaining many current customers with the iPhone. The "Unlimited Data" might be their only high point at somebody looking to switch.
The iPhone seems to be the way to phase out unlimited data. Get it while you can! Oh wait, it doesn't matter because once you cross the 2GB "limit" you get throttled.
Hot damn! Now my question is, will I need to line up at my local Sprint store even after preordering? Any AT&T customers have experience with this in the past?
I can't imagine how you use so much data.
Sprint doesn't throttle.
The discount only applies to the plan cost, and not the $10 premium fee per month. So, your discount equates to $57.39 ($69.99 - 18%) + $10 fee = $67.39 (not including taxes). Still not a bad deal at all.
That's exactly what I do with my phone. If I'm going to be forced to pay for the data service, then I'm going to use itHave wifi turned off
People say there are only 450 minutes...but UNLIMITED mobile to mobile...so I doubt most people talk aver 450 minutes to a landline.
I'm on a family plan with Verizon. I have Unlimited Text, Data, and share 1400 minutes with all 5 people on my family plan.
We have 10 landlines added to our plan (we get those for free) and have free Verizon to Verizon calling.
All together it cost $213 a month...is that a good deal?
I'm on with my parents so they foot the bill. But I don't know if a better long term plan would be to go with Sprint for $69.99.
Let me know what you think.
That's definitely a lot less than the $100+/- per iPhone I roughly pay on my currently family plan with AT&T.
My current bill for 2 iPhone 4's plus a dumbphone = $230 a month or so.
I believe it is just just mobile to mobile on sprintAre we sure the MOBILE TO MOBILE is accross all phone networks and not just mobile to mobile on sprint?
Does anyone know this for sure?

Sprint will be fast enough to continue to watch Hulu and Netflix, and depending where you are, may even be better. I live in Southern California and I cannot tell you how many dead zones there are with ATT, in fact, my whole house is in a dead zone (but that's because of rich snobby people not wanting to "depreciate" the value of their homes by building "unsightly" cellphone towers, off topic.) Sprint has much better service in this area. It also has more 3g coverage throughout the US than ATT does so it will be better while traveling in the States. It's worth switching for unlimited data alone. I currently have unlimited on ATT while my girlfriend does not. She constantly has to monitor her Netflix usage and can't use her phone nearly as much as she'd like to just because her data caps. So, we'll both be switching to Sprint.
As a side note, I don't particularly like Sprint (or any cellphone carrier for that matter) I just really really really hate ATT. Getting rid of any texting plan other than unlimited for $20 made up my mind that I was moving.

Look at their 3g map, it's bigger than ATT's
Are we sure the MOBILE TO MOBILE is accross all phone networks and not just mobile to mobile on sprint?
Does anyone know this for sure?
Sprint said:Any Mobile, Anytime: Unlimited domestic calls from the Sprint network to and from ANY U.S. mobile phone regardless of carrier. Any network, any time.
$69.99?
Aren't they forgetting the $10/month "premium" fee for 3G and 4G devices?
I assumed that included the iPhone.
Are we sure the MOBILE TO MOBILE is accross all phone networks and not just mobile to mobile on sprint?

No, not correct. The $10 premium data fee applies to any smartphone (Believe this went into effect in January of 2011), from Sprint:$10/month "premium" fee is only for 4G devices. I have two 4G and one 3G phones and I am charged $10 only for 4G. iPhone is not 4G on Sprint so they should not charge extra $10. Will see.
We require this add-on for phones made to deliver a superior wireless experience including Web, email, video and social networking.
Additional details:
The Premium Data add-on charge is required for smartphones.
Sprint smartphones currently are: Android, BlackBerry, Palm, Instinct and Windows Mobile phones.
On average, smartphone users use 10 times more data than customers with basic or feature phones. With this charge, Smartphone customers will continue to receive unlimited data and experience Sprint’s simplified services and rates, being able to take advantage of a rich data experience while on the Sprint network.
If you would like an unlimited data plan, for a lower rate, and avoid this charge, you may want to check out some of our feature phones which do not require the $10 Premium Data add-on charge.

I have their unlimited plan. 70 bucks, unlimited text, talk, data, no roaming.
