Our life now a days is waiting for the new best thing. Did you guys know that Samsung already announced on NBC the new Galaxy s4 with 5 inch screen to come out in Feb. and that the Iphone 6 is already in the works with the NFC technology that everyone thought the Iphone 5 was to have.

A 5" screen would be ridiculous, in a bad way. My current phone has a 4.3" screen and I think it's perfect. A bigger screen size than that is one of the things that kept me from getting the S3.

NFC is the next best thing they said next year will be all based on the nfc

Who cares? I don't like Android as much as iOS6, I see no use in my life for NFC, and this phone is a huge upgrade compared to my old device even if it is, as some say "behind the curve". I'm confident I will get 2 years of use out of it no problem without feeling that it's obsolete

Technology does not get updated that quickly. There is still a substantial percentage of the population that doesn't have a smart phone. There are still 3.5 million on dial up, for crying out loud. There is nothing that NFC provides that I need. Is it cool? Sure. But I need my phone to 1) call other phones, 2) text/send pictures to other phones, 3) get onto internet. I don't yet require my phone to be able to pay for things with a bump.

Also, it's hardly a guarantee that NFC will become standard. There are so many instances of technology that never caught on despite being evolutionary and cool (laser disks, appliances that connect to the internet, etc).

I ordered 5 phones for my entire family and got a tracking number.
Placed the order around 8am Central Time
Looks like they are all shipped together.
A mix of black/white & 16/32.

Wow. I ordered 3 phones for the family and would think they would send them separately. Did you watch the Sprint and UPS video?

Also, I heard on here that people who ordered 2 phones are getting two different tracking #s with different delivery times. Don't know what carriers.

I received my tracking for my black 32GB

Same here.

Just wanted to add, thanks to everyone for all company while waiting for our tracking numbers. Days ago I stopped checking my Sprint page for updates and just checked this forum. Nice to finally have a tracking number!

That's what people though of having camera's/internet/etc. on a cellphone years ago. They eventually become a standard. I'm not saying NFC will be the next thing for sure but things change before we know it.

looks like this is what's holding us back
If so, that would be a bunch of BS. No reason a service should prevent the physical shipment of the product.

I was worried that the "backorder" status of the applecare purchase on the order status page was somehow true.

What date and time did you order at?

It seems like those who ordered later in the afternoon haven't got their tracking info yet...

I get that. But this person is saying that we should all regret our purchases because NFC exists and may or may not become a big thing. I certainly don't regret my purchase for the reasons I stated (no matter what, iphone 5 is an upgrade for me, I have no current use for NFC, and there's not a guarantee that I'm going to absolutely need NFC in the next 2 years)

I ordered without applecare and dont have a # yet. Nothing is preventing the shipment, it just hasn't been scanned yet. They might be scanning them by destination and plane departure times to get them to you tomorrow. Im just outside of Cincinnati, about 2 hrs from Louisville. I don't even know if mine will go on a plane. They might just drive it over.

Besides that one guy, did anyone have luck calling Sprint for their tracking number?

I won't bother today. I'll definitely give them a call tomorrow if my phone doesn't show up
