If you bought outright you'd have zero issues with doing an ESN swap. I'm unsure how getting a 2yr agreement for phone discount will affect your plan. I say that because some things have changed and you mentioned an older plan. Chances are nothing will change for you.

I however discovered/remembered if I upgrade a member on my family plan their access charge to my plan goes from $15 to $40 a month. Crazy talk.... They wanna charge me More to do a 2 year agreement. For those on the iPhone for life plan it really seems like they want to make us pay for the phone outright regardless because on those plans if you do a 2 year agreement you're charged an extra $25 which is a fixed rate for everyone and as far as I know that charge will stay on there even after the agreement is up. Might as well do easy pay or lease.

Sprint's website says if you upgrade to the new iPhone before December 31, you keep the promotional pricing until the next iPhone.

From what I understand the promotional pricing is until "YOUR" next iPhone. So that means whenever you decide to upgrade then you lose the $15/mo rate and go to whatever rate they are charging at the time. And with how often Sprint flip flops on their promotions then theres no guarantee that they'll continue to have competitive iPhone Forever monthly pricing.

The good part about this promotional pricing is that if someone really doesn't have a need to have the latest and greatest then they can stay on the $15/mo plan until they own the phone (which would take about 3 1/2 years. So thats a great deal.)

But Sprint's site literally says if you upgrade to the 6s before 12/31, you keep the pricing until the next upgrade.

Sprint customer here upgrading from an HTC One to the 6s 64GB space gray going with the iPhone Forever plan. Last iPhone preorder I did was for the 5 through sprint.com and aside from the slow site it was flawless and I had the phone on launch day. I'm hoping for a similar experience.

Last time I preordered with Sprint was with the 5 as well, but I preordered several days late and ended up canceling my order because it wasn't moving. Eventually picked one up at Apple.

Just got a sprint plan yesterday to prepare for the iPhone 6s plus was with cricket last year it was pretty easy of course I did pay out of pocket for the phone and got a 64 gb 6 unlocked decided to go with sprint because I was tired of saving up money just for a phone so I hope every thing goes smooth this year

Which plan are you on?

wow sprint just gave me my upgrade a year and 3 months early. I wasn't eligible until 12/16. Looks like ill have a 6s after all weird
I've had Sprint for almost 8 years and they've probably given me an early upgrade out of nowhere 3 times.

Im not arguing with you. Get a 6S before 12/31 and you get it for $15/mo. I agree and those are the terms.

My point is more about the exit strategy because in 2016 then you likely won't be getting an iPhone 7 at $15/mo or even $22/mo because Sprint is notorious for killing promotional plans.

For sure, who knows how long the iPhone "Forever" Plan will last too.

well thats great to hear because i keep checking it like every 10 minutes now just to make sure it stays eligible smh its going to be a long 4 hours
From what I understand, they have been offering early upgrades for people that were on two year agreements if you switch to lease or easy pay plans. So watch for that in the details.

I decided to go with the iPhone forever plan because I was told I could upgrade whenever I wanted
Some things to note:

- Upgrades must be Generational Upgrades. That means if you have a Silver iPhone 6S then a Gold 6S or Gray 6S+ don't qualify. So your only option is the September 2016 model

- Sprint charges $36 activation + Sales Tax for the entire phone. So even though you're only using a 6S+ for 12mo you still pay $80 in taxes. And then when you trade up next year, its $36 + $80 again.

Anyway, I'm doing iPhone Forever tonight despite the additional fees because (for this year at least) in the end its significantly cheaper than the rest.

One good thing about discontinued plans is that if you stay very still then they won't push you off the boat. I'm still on a dirt cheap Framily plan and my plan is to keep the 6S for 2yrs at $15/mo and upgrade to the 7S in 2017. So $15 * 24mo = $360 for 2yrs of usage. You can't beat that price.

Yep, just like with Verizon where people are still on the unlimited plan.

makes sense because i cant select the 2yr contract upgrade. I'm fine with that though this time around easy pay isn't that bad
