Now I can cuss them out for not testing this patch a year ago when Tiger was announced.

Maybe I should tell them that Leopard is coming soon.... :D

I have downloaded the patch, installed it over 11.0.3, but it didn't work.... I tried a clean install of 11.0.4 (the Tiger patch), didn't work either. I get the following error message:

"Unable to open dialog data file
Ssytem:Applications:SPSS 11:SPSS 11 for Mac OS X.app:Contents:Resources:SPSSDLG.CBF"

and after that:

"Error during startup: Quitting..."

Does anybody have the same experience? Or perhaps a solution?:)

No problems for me. . .

Sorry you're having trouble with the patch. No such errors for me (knock on wood), and the new version continues to work just fine. Hope you get resolution soon.

As much of a nuisance as it is, have you tried re-downloading the patch, in case you have a corrupted copy?

Well, after your message I did:)

But unfortunately: also the newly downloaded patch doesn't help :(

any other idea....?

Hi, Lodi!
Have you checked the volume format where your Tiger is installed? I supposed you use HFS+ (Case Sensitive). See SPSS Read Me First document. This issue is described here.
You should reinstall Tiger and change volume format to non-Case Sensitive.

Ugh, yes, if you have a case sensitive volume, definitely change it! Huge PITA with MacOS! :(

Although...how would someone end up with one unless they knew what they are doing? There's no obvious reason to use one for 99.9% of users, and it is not the default, and never has been, AFAIK.

THANX SO MUCH SHUSHA!

I had to change and reinstall the system partition, but since also Photoshop didn't work before, it was definitely worth the effort!
