People here seem to be programmed to say: 'Fake' ...

Can anyone there could imagine a second that this could be real?

my 2 euro's...

IF it was a 128GB flash drive, maybe 8GB is resevered for the OS?

taking into account the 1,000,000 bytes = 1 GB rule when selling HD's, and the OS not being 8GB in size, it could actually leave a very accurate 120GB HD space. (with dedicated OS partition)

maybe... OS on a flash drive (8/16GB) and then a normal SATA for documents?

if it's real.

as a 2 week veteran of photoshop...i vote fake...can you really see sj using that slide in a presentation?

and do you think they would use the actual slides for testing at the venue?

test the slide show at apple HQ, and the projector with random slideshow and test them together the morning of the conference just to make sure

i may as well post this now.

a very good friend of mine works for an Apple reseller. Last monday just as he was leaving work, he received a call from someone at Apple asking for the MD. As it was the end of the day he tried to fob her off but she calmly annouced that she needed to speak to him about a new product being launched at WWDC.

i asked him about it later in the week and he said that his MD denied all knowledge of any product and that the woman who rang shouldn't have said anything to him.

i do not doubt my friend at all. i've known him 10 years and he has no reason at all to fabricate this kind of story.

only thing is, no idea at all what the product is.

only 25.5 hours to go.

Lets hope it's true :) At least the person didn't say what it is or she would be lookin for new job this week.

I would be ever so happy with a 10/11/12" laptop *sighs heavily* It doesn't need Santa Rosa, it doesn't need some tricked out gpu, it doesn't even need a CD/DVD drive! Just something small that I can use for the internet, notes and all that other school crap. And don't make it $2000 either :(

This sounds like a reporter trolling for information.

Apple doesn't go around pre-announcing products to resellers (who almost certainly have not signed any NDA), and they definitely wouldn't discuss the subject with some random person who answers the phone at a reseller's location.

I don't doubt your friend's story. He probably did get this call, but I am 98% certain that the person on the other end of that phone call wasn't from Apple.

It's pretty sad how fake this is. For kicks I replicated it in about 10 seconds using a default Keynote theme but don't really have the time to go put this up in an empty lecture hall on campus and go find someone with a Nokia 6233 to take a picture with.

Maybe sad, but bothering to recreate it is even sadder :)

Robner?

well it says flash based drive, so it could be Robner which means flash booting but then a regular HD

Robner? It's called Robson, and no, that wouldn't be considered a flash-based drive as it isn't flash-based. Its still platter-based, but enhanced with some small amount of flash.

You are not smart.

as far as i am aware, no actual product was mentioned just that there was one, and my friends MD did say that the women who called shouldn't have said anything to him about a new product (hence why asked for the MD). i also have it on good authority from my friend that they are made aware of new products quite often (not everytime), but they never know until it's been officially announced what it actually is i.e hardware, software, accessories etc.

thinking about it, he also mentioned to me that he's allowed to sell certain products closer to cost price then before. some of these do tie in with the buyers guide.

either way.... Leopard should be enough to satisfy everyones needs tomorrow. (except a mini bump would be nice)

It's not real. PERIOD. If it was real, you just got fired, Apple employees only in rehearsal. Also 120GB flash drive costs more than a 17" MacBook Pro. LCD keyboard will run you another $3,000. So good luck.

Seriously why even post this ****?

Maybe the headline should read "Apple to release $25,000 10" notebook"

If the slide appears during the keynote I'll buy you 10 brand new computers from Apple your choice. MODs please mark down my comments. I'll be standing by with my AMEX handy, better have your machines picked out.

That could be well over $40,000. Do you even have that much on your AMEX?

Lets not forget the patent that apple put out recently describing a multitouch interface. The mentioned keyboard may just be part of the screen a la the iphone. Maybe a clamshell with two screens, one for the keyboard and one for the display. As to the memory issue, 20 gb of flash sounds more reasonable and the 1 looks displaced from the 20 anyways. I think this could actually happen.

While I agree that this is fake you all seem to be getting

A bit hung up on a SINGLE 120 gb Flash drive.

Consider ZFS, and zpools + say 8gb flash modules. You could have 15 8gb NAND flash modules zpooled to act as one 120 gb drive.

Or some variation in capacity x quantity.

again, while this is probably fake fake fake, a 120 gb of onboard flash memory is not beyond the realm of possibility.

I just talked to Steve Jobs, and asked him about this.

He said it is true, but don't tell anyone.

So don't tell anyone, alright guys?
It's going to be a surprise tomorrow.

Fake

Am I the only one who notices that the perspective is wrong? The top line of the box is not parallel to the top of the screen on which it is projected. This means the "slide" is superimposed over another picture.
