Gee, we sure needed another FF7 port.
Well, yes. The same game was released on PSN and supports everything except PS4. Then the PC port, now this. It's not like they've re-released the same thing on the same platform or network at any point.

Sorry. Really struggling to see the problem with this. What don't you like about it?

moving between menus is a crazy experience...

Ok guys. I have to correct my previous statement: I said that there is a bug which makes the game impossible to continue. This is not correct. There is a bug, but i have found a work around. I'll share it, hoping to help anybody who was stuck like I was, which is very possible especially if you have played the original.

So...

...at one point in the game (within the first hour) you will be sleeping in Aerith's home. You have to get out the house without waking up the girl. In the original you had to move slowly otherwise the noise would wake her up. In the iOS version if you walk slowly your character will make noise and wake aerith up. If you run you will be silent and you will be able escape. So you have to do the opposite of what makes sense.

and just to be more clear: is this hd?

You're never, ever going to see improvements to those pre-rendered backgrounds. They were all hand drawn on SGI workstations back in the mid 90's and took up 90% of the development time. The resolution they are is permanent and it'd cost square a fortune to have every one of them redrawn.

As for the models, it probably benefits the game that they're left slightly low res as the higher quality models look worse on the low res backgrounds.

4GB install, so that 50% of the space available to most 16GB iphone users after the OS eats up a ton of space and you install one other app. I see many unhappy people in the near future..

Ill keep running my PS1 emulator from my 128GB SD card on my HTC One M8.. so glad i dropped iPhone as my phone of choice.. Ill come back, if they add an SD card slot, until then, nope.

Is there a way to put the game full screen and get rid of the blue boxes on the left and right?

So much complaining about a port...

This is widely regarded by many fans as the best in the series, and that is saying something (lately FF hasn't been good, but they used to be blockbusters). I said this on another forum, but we are too used to cheapass games on iOS, ost of which don't have 5% of the playthrough time, let alone story quality, of a title like this.

Do people complain this much when a two decade old movie makes it onto another medium and it's stll $25? Jesus...

Just wondering, how long does the battery last running a PSX emulator? I bet the M8 gets hot as hell. I mean, emulation is a heavy task even for my macbook.

I'll pick this up and play it on my Air 2, for the price it's not terrible. With no in app purchases it makes it perfect for me because i'm sick of those ruining games.

I installed the game into my iPad (I have the latest version and iOS is up to date) but there is no audio. Volume is up, in-game SFX is up and still nothing. I even re-installed the game and still, nothing.

I downloaded the game on my iPhone 6 Plus and there's sound.

Anyone have suggestions on what I should do?

Make sure you don't have the iPad muted. Happens to me all the time :)

No controller support and charging $16 is pretty absurd. Cool game, but no thanks.

*I'm going off of comments and the fact hat MFI isnt listed on the app store descriptions, seem to be conflicting reports of controller support.

Don't think I would run a PSX emulator on my phone that often considering how intense it is. I am, however, glad I grabbed Floppy Cloud to play NES/SNES on my iPhone. Grabbed the 64gb iPhone for $100 more because yeah 16gb is just insane.

Fair play, but I don't think the sort of people who download full, immersive console like games to an iPhone are the same people cheaping out buying the low capacity models, they either have a 64gb/128gb or another solution like yourself.

My sister has a 16gb iPhone it has about 8 3rd party apps installed and about 65% free capacity, different phones, different users and use cases.

Every time a Final Fantasy game is released I can't help but laugh.

I thought they said it was "Final". I mean it has Final right in the name, you'd think it would end. And if it's just a continuation of the one "Final" Fantasy then why change the numbers?

But then I seem to have a weird take on things.:D
