Hmmm don't know about the iPad 2. I have an iPad 1 and I think it's a $50 deductible... Is the sale still running?? Not many people got their iPads this weekend...

well I did it. I bought the darn warranty. Hoping it'll add to the resale value next Feb-March. Used the ipad40 code and so far as I know it works till the end of the day today.

thanks for the code, got mine just now. I noticed the code works for other products as well . . .

Looks like the code was extended a week! Now expires March 21

Glad to post the code! I happy people are saving some cash! Enjoy!

Glad to also hear that that its extended as I might but a 2nd Ipad2 for kids and want the warranty at cheapest cost! Now I just need to find the 2nd one to buy in the store! Maybe tomorrow :)

Could somebody explain the basic difference between AppleCare & Square Trade (besides the price)? Any coverage differences?

Also, if you do Square Trade, can you still take the iPad 2 to an Apple Store for help/repairs during the initial warranty? Isn't it covered for a year for free? Or am I confused?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The biggest thing the Square Trade warranty offers is accidental coverage. AppleCare does not cover this. Also, the Square Trade warranty comes with a buyback program. Apple still covers regular warranty issues within the first year. However, with square trade, you can get 3 years of coverage and if you drop and break the screen you would get the purchase price back, rather than being SOL with Apple.

thanx...is there a deductible or anything?

Is it confirmed that this offer is good thru the 21st? Could someone post a link?

It is through their Facebook page.

They are waving the $50 on iPad. I think phones still have the charge.

thanx, again

1 more question (for anybody)...i saw where they're advertising 3 years for $107.99 (with coupon code), but is the ADH extra?...that's the only thing i'm confused about

The price you state includes the ADH

I'm glad I saw this thread. Thanks.

Sounds like a really good deal. Looks like they pretty much cover everything except theft.

It covers everything because it has accidental damage protection.
....snip

It doesn't cover everything because it does not cover loss, theft or have an option for coverage outside the US.

For those interested in the above there is http://www.safeware.com/

If you plan on upgrading next year to the latest iPad there is no reason to get a two year insurance plan. Safeware covers more, is about 68 bucks for one year which is all I plan to hold on to the iPad 2 for.

It covers everything that makes it not work I should have said. No theft insurance true dat!

But if you sell your ipad the warranty is transferable and prorated if you cancel so you get some $ back if you dont own it year two. Plus it has "free" trade in deal as well".

I will check out safeware just to know but I am sticking with ST.

I'm hoping to have my iPad by the 21st, but if I don't SquareTrade has said to go ahead and buy the warranty and when you get it call them up and they'll change the effective date in their system. If this has already been mentioned, I apologize.
