i was hesitant at first since I have already spent so much on this ipad, but I bit the bullet and glad I did. At least I don't have to worry about it breaking or dropping it. It still hurts me that I dropped my macbook pro a few years back and it left a dent in the corner.

This time I am worry free.

They won't cover dents or scratches which are cosmetic and the device functions just fine. They only cover stuff like cracked screens, spills/water damage, becoming non-functional, and similar accidents. Intentional damage is also not covered, so don't go breaking it on purpose to get a replacement.

If you just drop it on the ground and you get a scratched screen or back they aren't going to replace it.

I don't mind this so much because I am mainly worried about cracked screens after a drop.

Thanks for posting. I just bought the two year plan. Was tempted by Best Buy's plan, but this is so much less expensive and I've heard nothing but good things about Square Trade. Hope I don't need to use it!

yes well i'm sure if you got a dent that you really hated and didn't mind using up your warranty you could just "accidentally" drop it on it's screen. but then you're using up your warranty and might have to get a new one. Though that would be great for resale. Just drop it a couple weeks before you're going to sell it, get a new one and sell that. lol.

It's also kind of insurance fraud!

I just ordered and it went through. Having this is a big relief (and now I don't need something ugly like otterbox!) Thank you for the heads up!

I actually was going to get SquareTrade cause thats what I have for my iPad 1, but I decided to go with Worth Ave. Group. It was $130 which is pricey, but it covers theft as well.

I had a scratch in my original iPad screen and called up SquareTrade and they said, no the whole screen must be broken for us to replace it. So I'll give WAG a try.

i know apple covers the warranty internationally...i have just bought one for the MAC..

how about squaretrade ? is that restricted to US ?? if it covers international then i am on for my new ipad2 (which i am expecting in couple of weeks :))
