Hi guys, I'm Surendhar from India. I use a mid-2013 13 inch Macbook Air 6,2. My SSD has crashed and iCare pegs the price at Rs. 50,000 to replace it with a new one. Is there any alternate options for me to buy outside? It is 128 GB PCIe-based flash storage (SSD). Have searched online, but couldn't find a proper solution yet. Please help!

For those who might be curious - 50,000 Rs is approximately $US 750.
Surendhar - You don't find alternates, because there are almost none to replace your internal SSD, other than those that Apple uses.

I also have a 2013 MBA. Unfortunately there still are no third party replacements for the SSD. The only options are SSDs that have been removed from another MBP or MBA or new ones from Apple.

What do you mean no alternatives? bs

genuine Apple 128GB SSD for 2013 MBA on ebay is around $200, which is 4 times less.
Doesn't sound like an alternative to you?

PS. I would strongly advise against it, but there are also chinese DIY SSD kits that come with preinstalled adapters http://www.ebay.com/itm/128GB-SSD-f...647766?hash=item33a6ac6416:g:QrgAAOSwd0BVuU0o
