There is much debate about pricing, tiers, prices of bands.

But I think most of us want to know how much for the Apple Watch SS model?

We all know what the Sport starts at, and we have our wallets ready come launch day, but some of us don't want to settle. We want the Sapphire Glass and Stainless Steel shinny that Apple has bestowed upon us.

So what will the starting price be? How much more can a stainless steel case and Sapphire glass cost?

My bet is on $499 for the base model. What is yours?

About "settling" -- just wanted to mention that I wonder if the Sports model will be more comfortable to wear due to being lighter. So while I'm getting the Sports model mostly due to price (don't want to pay extra $$ when I'm almost certain to be upgrading to the 2nd gen next year), I think there's a chance that the Sport is the model I'd want even if the SS were priced the same as Sport.

I'm guessing (hoping) around $499 / $549. I am still not sure if there will be a difference between 38mm / 42mm.

The maximum that I am willing to pay for the model I want (38mm SS with black classic leather buckle and also possibly a white sport band) will be $900. However, I really hope it won't cost that much.

I think you'll be fine to be honest.

I want the 42mm SS with Black Sports Band - the cheapest band, but I love the minimal look! I think will be around $500-$600 tops.

I am not knocking the sport model, i think most people will actually go for that model in general regardless of price. If the internal specs are the same, which I have a feeling they will be, the sports model will be a great option! and best value in my opinion. Its all about the look you prefer.

My second choice is actually the 42mm Aluminum Sport with Black Sports Strap

----------

38mm SS with Sport band $649
42mm $699

38mm SS with Black leather band, classic buckle $749
42mm $799

Ouch, I hope not! then i would just get the aluminum sport model with black sportsstrap.

I replied $699+ for the steel, but the more I think about it I think I'm wrong. They'll probably want something between that price point and $350. $500 or $550 is seeming the most likely to me now. [Edit: turns out I didn't know much about gold. I think people may be far overestimating the Edition edition due to it using an "alloy" they created, it's likely not using nearly as much gold as people have been estimating.]

But I really need to see these things in person to decide if I want one, and then to decide which one. I pre-ordered a 6+ without seeing one, got nervous as hell when the case arrived because I have small hands, but ended up loving it.

A watch is a totally different beast. I have a Fitbit Charge HR, but it's essentially a black band with a tumor, and even at less than half the price of the Sport, I tried some on before I pulled the trigger. I have small wrists (to go with my hands) but I still had to get the "large" version of the Charge HR to be comfortable. That's just strap length though.

I just measured 38mm and 42mm on my wrist for the first time, and jeez, I think even the 38mm would look ridiculous on me. Ergh.

(By the way - what they say about people with small hands is NOT true... I can't even find small gloves. :D)

With the gold watch starting probably in the neighborhood of $3 to 5K the SS in the $600-1200 range seems about right.

Yes, it's an alloy Apple created, but because of strict legal restrictions, we know "18k gold" has to be 75% gold. So not knowing what the other 25% consists of doesn't prevent people from coming up with accurate estimates of the amount of gold in the Edition.

$549 for the SS with sport band
$629 for the SS with a leather, classic, modern bands
$699 for the SS with link or Milanese bands

Sizes and colors the same price.

I'll go $499 for watch with sport band
$549 for watch with leather bands
$599 for watch with Milanese loop
$679 for watch with link bracelet

Probably wishful thinking, but I think it could be lower than some estimates.

$499 for a 'Tim Cook' Apple Watch. That's SS with a white band.

I really like the look of the White band, my only concern with it is how quickly it would get dirty and fade. I do like the look of the White and black sport bands as well as the blue one. In fact if there not too expensive I may buy more than one sport band with the SS model.

I am tired seeing this pricing game already but I will let all of you play for the last time, haha. I wonder if some people will be able to finally sleep deeply after the reveal next week. I would play in predict how many AW will be sold in the first week? 2015? :D

Good grief not another pricing thread. Sigh.

Indeed, makes you wonder why people who are sick of these threads, bother to click on them, start reading them, and then take the time to post in them.

:D

yea but thats $150 more then the Sport, for a Stainless Steel Case and Sapphire Glass, isn;t that enough?

For SS and Saphire I would add on around $200 - $300 but I could be wrong. I just think that Saphire on the watch is going to be expensive, but then I also think the Stainless Steel Link Bracelet will also be expensive.
