If you don't have the money for a bare bones watch ($349), then most likely you don't have the money for an iPhone.
When I wrote the earlier post the potential buyers I had in mind already have an iPhone. Where I live iPhone's are everywhere, especially in the hands of eight year olds and up. Kids that in many cases pressure their parents even if they must go in debt. The population here runs the gamut from those who live paycheck to paycheck, up to the throngs of mega-millionare tech titans.
One fast read of this forum reveals lots of young people here more than willing to go into debt for their Apple products. Thus my point is the many rather immature impulse buyers may be hard pressed to buy Apple's watch.
Yet that's of little consequence, I'm sure after Apple gives their typical hype filled convincing presentation, the watches will sell no matter what they're like, it's Apple's very powerful brand strength and the "Cool" factor that reels them in. A clever sales pitch and masterful marketing hasn't failed Apple yet.
