No way am I going to spam the other non-predict the prices threads to express we have enough of this and just so this thread will get buried. :D Seriously, this thread is fun, much better than are you going to be (that stupidly lol) angry because you are wrong in predicting gold AW prices? Thankfully, nobody started a who is going to be on suicide watch if gold Apple Watch is priced at least $10,000?

We are losing our focus to some other more important thing that we should be spending more energy before the reveal. We get it, Apple products are too expensive for many people - and for some reason, by bombarding this forum with theories on why AW will be overpriced would somehow influence Apple to make them affordable for them, LOL. I know, just messing around, a few days left.

Keep the regular programming going ... :p

I cannot wait what this forum will be like next week and on April. The noobs and many t____s will be coming, haha. Jk

$649 for low end SS and I would be buying the Aluminum Sport :), most I'm gonna pay for the base SS is $550

Ditto. I'm prepared to pay no more then $650 (with Calif Sales tax) for the SS 42mm. For that price I hope it comes with the Leather Loop (which is the band I want for everyday wear). More then that and I'm just going to get the 42mm Space Gray Sport.

I think around $500 to $550. I think there's some reaching on how much of a difference SS and sapphire will add to the cost (same for the amount of gold on the Edition). An extra $200 for just SS and sapphire still allows for very healthy margins. I'd be surprised to see the Watch start out around the price of an iPhone, given how much more complicated the iPhone is, and the iPhone already is a very high margin product. SS and sapphire don't add much more to the cost. Not that cost is the only thing that matters. But adding more than a few hundred dollars for just two materials sounds like a stretch.

I think the jumps from Sport to Watch to Edition will be similar to how Apple prices other things– iPad mini to iPad Air, or MacBook Air to MacBook Pro. Not iPhone 5c to MacBook Air to Mac Pro.

With the selection of models and bands, buyers will always have in the back of their mind that they could get an even better model for a bit more. The Edition with Sport band will cost a two or three hundred dollars more than the Space Black Watch with Link bracelet.

Agreed. They market the Apple Watch SS too high and they won't sell as many. They would make more money selling more at less of a cost.

Im telling you $499 is the sweet spot. Forget about the editions they won't be even close to the $1000 mark. Thats why they are called EDITION

I think thats why people are marking up the prices of the SS, because they want them to be the middle tier behind the edition. So if the edition is $3000, the low end SS could be atleast $800? No, doesn't make sense to me.

Can't wait till Monday, so many people are going to be shocked and settling for a Sport model when they see the real prices.

Or I'll be thinking man was I wrong and getting 3 or 4 bands for my SS. :)

You think the SS model is going to be expensive? Monday will indeed be an interesting event.

I intend to buy a 42mm SS with black leather classic buckle band and a white sport band. Add Apple Care and taxes and I'm thinking my total will be around $1k.

I HOPE I'm wrong and it's much cheaper and then I'll add a blue leather loop band and heck maybe buy the wife a watch as well.

If I have to guess, I am expecting SS to start at $599, and that the nicer bands (i.e. Milanese, Link) to be $300-$400. In all honesty, it won't shock me if the most expensive Stainless model is $1500 (although I'll be disappointed if that's the case). I hope I'm wrong and it is lower, but I think Apple is going for more fashion than tech for the higher-end models.

There is NO CHANCE that the base model SS is $999

I am hoping for 38mm $449 and 42mm $499 but could see it being slightly higher than that possibly.

I'm hoping to get a SS 42mm with a SS Link Bracelet and a sport band, however if the price is too high (over £1000) then I will get a SS with A couple of different sport bands. I'm planning a trip to the Apple Store to see if I like the SS before I buy, if not it will be the Sport version for me.

I truly think the smart money is on $499 for the 42mm SS with sports band. I would expect that a much higher percentage of men (who would want the larger size) are drawn to smart watches versus women and that if they can afford it most are going to desire the SS. It does seem that the SS is what people prefer but many of us will settle on the sport if Apple gets crazy on the pricing.

The big money is in accessories. With a decent base price on the SS then many of us will by at least one dressy version and possibly 2 or 3. I want the sport band for the gym where I will shower with it. Either link or loop for dressy, and possibly a leather to switch it up.

I do not see myself buying ANY extra bands if I get the base sport version in Black. Most of them will look like crap next to aluminum.

Yes, so do I.

It's what you might call the iPad Sweet Spot, people are prepared to purchase one with not a huge amount of prior thought. Then, when they'd usually buy a smart cover/case with a new iPad, they'll buy an extra strap with the Watch.

It allows for huge upsells, anything more, and it's just too high for people to justify for a product that's the same in all except design.

My guess when it was first announced was a starting price of $499 / £399 for the SS watch with the rubber strap and I'm sticking with that. :)

It really s the most logical price. You can upsell the crap out of the higher end bands. Go ahead sell the SS w/ Link for $799, if it keeps the base at $499 lol

Why would I pay 600 Dollars on Apple Watch and pay 800 on an ıPhone. It doesn't make sense that much.

One of them will be over priced. :(

Very true, I was saying the same thing, even if the Apple Watch is $499, you can get an entry level iPad Air 2 for that price!

You say that as if the devices are made out of the same material and serve the same function. Why would you buy an 800 dollar iPhone when you can buy a $1000 LED TV?
