So Sapphire is more prone to impact and more scratch resistant and ION-X is a little less scratch resistant and more impact resistant?
From every tech article I came across upto the iPhone 6 launch and it's sapphire rumors. Yes.

Having owned a watch with a Sapphire Crystal face/cover (Oakley GMT watch) for the last 10 years, I'd want that as opposed to the ion strengthen glass. My watch has been impacted against so many walls/polls/hard surface so many times accidentally and the sapphire doesn't have a single scratch/crack on it. A few times I thought it should have broke because I hit it so hard. The only part of the watch that has scratches is the stainless steel band/case but they're not that noticeable.

My fear would be getting the Sport and having the glass scratch/break and/or the aluminum dent after an impact.

Yes, but you're MUCH more likely to scratch glass than shatter sapphire. The only way I'd prefer something over sapphire is maybe in the case of a Seiko diver with a hardlex crystal.

Additionally, if you get AC+ it'll covered shattered screens but not a scratch (which would be considered "normal wear and tear").

Which one should I get? Also is the $200 price difference worth it for sapphire glass, steel, and exchangeable straps?

Get the Stainless Steel:

1. Better resale value when/if you upgrade later
2. Sapphire glass is a lot more scratch resistant (My Omega watch has been banged around and still has no scratches on the glass)
3. Steel is harder to scratch/ding than Aluminum.

If your looking for resale value I'd recommend the sport. The higher priced versions usually fall proportionally more.

It's been a long time since we had an unpredictable Apple product. We don't know:

- How often will Apple update the Apple Watch?
- How durable is each model?
- Will it fit into your lifestyle?
- Will it have decent resale value?
- Is the battery replaceable?
- How does it look after 1 year of use?
- Will 3rd parties push the price lower?

If not knowing the answer to any of the above questions doesn't bother you, then hell.. get whatever you want. BUT if even one of these questions bother you, then buy the cheapest model, play with it, and if you like it - upgrade, or buy a more expensive "Apple Watch 2" in 2016. Your call.

Youre market will alao shrink because its the clunkier heavier version.

AAARGH!!!

I can't take this any more!

Now I'm back on the SG Sport. Is that definitely what that was? The sides looked shiny like it was the SS Black.

TOO MANY CHOICES. CAN'T COPE.

worth it? No way. There is no value in that bump IMO.

I'm getting the SS though because I think it looks better, plus a tad bragging right to my peers. The additional bands available is also a plus.

That strap just looks dam nasty in that colour.
I've not seen the other colours in the flesh, but the black would be right out.
As long as it stays clean, the white looks nice in the photo's at least, and quite wearable day to day without standing out as a bright sports color.

I still can't believe they aren't offering a Product RED color at launch.

Why not compromise and get one of the silver models and order Space Gray sport band separately? It's a nice combo. You have 1 month to decide.

Why must you ruin my hopes and dreams! :(

I most certainly wouldn't order a model based on resale value. Get the one you like.
