I bought this one before I pledged for the one you mentioned. So I'm trying to sell this one because I don't want two of them lol
What I meant was that the "S" releases typically don't include major hardware design changes, so DLC'd steel might not happen until iPhone 7 (if ever)
Nice, though the white balance is terrible on the first photo. You are going to spark another debate about what shade of black the watch is.

Yea I was going to chime in for about 5 seconds then I realized that it's a joke that can go wrong too fast.
You're right, it's definitely off in the first photo. I blame the iPhone 6 Plus for it being off. The additional two photos are a lot closer to the actual color.

Actually I had a REALLY hard time getting the WB right when photographing a Milanese in store on my wrist. I think the OLED display screws up the iphones WB.
I don't mess with WB much, but his photo looks so silver because its way oer exposed. It looks like a super high ISO low light photo for some reason even though its clearly a daylight indoor photo from the blown out highlights.
The iPhone is great at everything, but no camera is good in Auto mode. That's why I LOVE the manual exposure in iOS 8 as well as the fact my phone magically started using flash to focus in pitch black scenarios which I could never get my 5s to do.

I couldn't use the manual exposure this time. I have been in an arm sling for the last few weeks (shoulder surgery), so it's hard to take photos. I'm just glad the other two photos turned out good.
I'm not sure how the exposure turned out the way it did. But i'll try harder just for the macrumors team... It's a tough crowd.

Definitely agree! There might be something to the different shades. Probably not on the production models, but on the Try on models. It was April 10th when I tried on the SSSB at the stores, but I believe it was a lot lighter.
Holy cow I actually have an update! My 38 mm ordered 4/18 had a June date and was updated to available to ship next 4-6 business days, delivers June 3-6. This is the watch I had the EOD saying 3-4 weeks on 5/7 so this fits right in with that. before this my delivers by dates were the end of June so those didn't seem too accurate.
Why not bond the DLC to the aluminum?

People were saying earlier (a few days ago) that there was a 24-hour customs hold on shipments in Anchorage. Did we get any actual factual corroboration for that? (because, I'm guessing Apple and UPS have a SLEW of brokers in Alaska to make sure that s h i t don't happen!)

I really think, because:
- there was a HUGE number of planes that flew over the last 4 days
- Apple wants to launch in-store for watches early-mid June
- Memorial day holiday tends to make federal employees (aka Customs) take 3 days to recover from 1 days worth of backlog (I mean, really, WTF?!)
...that this week isn't going to be typical. The significant amount of movement this week, we'll see later in the week. (hopefully starting tomorrow and continuing Thurs-Friday) :0
At least, that's what I'm putting out there. Apple's running out of time to get in-store and not cause all of us to kick off a jihad on their ass.
I see there's one ups 77 planes that arrived 2 hours ago at anchorage, it says 3:49pm AKDT but i thought that was the same as PST? if so, in CST its 6:49 but right now for me its 8:34, so the planes been landed for 4 hours?
Regardless, how do we know when it lands in Louisville tonight? i cant figure out how to see the department from anchorage and arrival to Louisville for that flight.

I love the optimism but the in store will only be sport models with easy to get band combos. There are some you can order online right now and get delivery right away.
There may be a big shipment this week in North America but they have thousands of our type to get through before they reach the July dates. And they just don't seem to be making that many.
Never wanted to be wrong about something more in my life.
Ah, but we don't know what the distribution is. Maybe 90% are in the first 5 minutes?
(yes, pulling that number out of my ass) - but, until Apple actually releases real sales numbers, we have no idea.

There were people complaining about that. (pretty sure you can set alarms not he watch) And the fact that there aren't sleep tracking apps.
