It would be great to have some signs of movement today, I just have a hard time that after all these months of prep there are just no SS Black.

This is how I feel. Like how is there zero available at launch. Just can't wait I think this is the best looking of them all.

Well look at it this way. If none of us gets an SS Black on launch day, it's not like we missed out on anything. We will be getting the first batch that's ready assuming we are in the 4-6 week shipping range. Sure all those "white sport" and other "sport peasants" will have their watches first, but ultimately will be inferior in build quality and lack of DLC.

I want it day one for sure and am still hopeful, but it will get here and we can all look back and laugh at this.

Obviously I haven't seen ANY movement since placing the order. No charge, no nothing.

Actually I take that last part back slightly. Last week I noticed a $0.00 charge that appeared to be a test charge from Apple on my card. However at the time I had ordered a new 12 inch MacBook for my wife but that charge was already showing in full. It's possible it was a test charge for the watch but that's all I've seen.

I believe this is also one of the best looking watches I've seen. Hence the reason I ordered it. Good things comes to those who wait... This is get. Trust me! But I think I'm like everyone else in this thread. These launches make me feel like I'm about to get my Christmas presents. As silly as it is, the waiting is the hardest part. I might not be asking for it on launch day but why is there no movement whatsoever when it comes to these?! Are they really that scarce?! At least take my money and let me see a shipping change! I hate to have to wait till May 27th to get it.

It'll be worth the wait if it's the SS Black!

I feel the same way. If none of us get ours Friday it may be launch day for the watch in general but it definitely won't be launch for the SS Black model. This of is with the May 13th time frame will be the first to get our hands on it when it finally ships.

Not to throw in more hope bait, but I've seen a few thoughts on other threads that I agree with. I also had a few misconceptions.

1) I thought that the SS Links (Black and Regular) were the only category who hasn't seen a tinge of movement. Apparently the Pink Sport also hasn't, and they have 4/24 confirmations. The thought on this is that the least popular watches are getting worked on last. This would make sense.

2) Seeing that some people with "June" shipping on other watches are now seeing "preparing for shipping" originally pissed me off. A new thought is that people closest to these supposed "storage sites" will be worked on last, and those furthest away within the same launch window are the ones getting these updates.

3) I thought today was the last day and we were running out of time for a 4/24 delivery. Apparently some users ordered iPhones and went straight from processing to shipped late Thursday night and got theirs Friday morning. Buying another 24 hopeful hours is good but also agonizing. I can't get any work done.

What I'm saying is - it's possible they have blacks ready to rock, prepped at stations nearby. Apple is just dealing with the popular peasant orders first because there are so many, and at the push of a button and a quick truck trip later some of us could get them Friday still even at this point. We are human and always assume the worst as a safety net, but we could all be dead wrong and pleasantly surprised.

I like what your putting down and I agree that we aren't out quite yet! I also enjoyed the part about peasant orders . With the smaller number of SS Black they could probably ship the first wave of that model out quickly in the next day or so and still have it arrive Friday.

I generally get the iPhone every launch day but I'm even more excited than usual for the watch! It's a whole new device with what I think is a ton of potential!

Placed order 8.02 BST and received confirmation email 8.03 BST for SS Space Black.
Currently got 12th May to 26 May delivery timeframe.
Also hoping to get it earlier than that :)

3 minutes after, May 13th delivery estimate.

Just anecdotally, why did I order the Stainless Steel Space Black w/ Link?

First, I loved the link bracelet. I've always had links and like the cold steel feel, they look nice, can fit most attire or situations, hold up forever and are very easy to clean (versus leather which will stain w/ sweat and dirt over time). I don't like flashy stuff though so Black really appealed to me.

Finally and maybe this is just my ego talking....I can't afford Edition on my salary. If I could, I still wouldn't get it. 17K for a watch is insane!

But it's nice knowing that among all of the Apple Watch Users, mine will be the most limited next to solid gold. Very few people bought these compared to others mostly for cost, second maybe for style but lastly, because as soon as the store opened, these were already back-ordered and a lot of people I know that wanted back, went sport band just to get theirs on launch day and, as most of us know, the only way to get a black Apple Watch and/or a black Link bracelet is to order this specific model. No way to buy them separately. Pretty damn exclusive compared to edition and 1/10th the cost.

Also:
My 3 Meter Apple Watch charger shipped today
My Milanese and Black Sport Bands are showing April 29th delivery
Watch still unchanged as Processing for May 13-27th.

I get back from Europe on May 10th so the timing actually works in my favor. My Cell phone use while traveling is limited anyway (due to high price data) so I don't mind waiting until I'm back.

Same here to both of these points.

Is there anyone with a 4/24-5/8 shipping window for this model? Would love to see proof if so.

There's not. It was delayed from the start. My order timestamp is 12:01 PDT.

so far i have not seen a single person with anything other than the 4-6 week window.

it is a bit frustrating that Apple has been so radio silent about this specific models availability. if its not going to be shipped on launch day, why? what happened? Also why sell it if you don't have it?

I don't believe anyone does at all. From the very onset the dates for both versions of SS Links said 4-6 weeks. I remember losing some time placing the order pondering that. In hindsite I wish I would have remained resolute and saved 15 seconds getting my order in that much earlier and didn't stop to ponder my decision.

ordered 10.4 10 min after opening (had to wait the appstore came back online)
42 mm june :-(

Man I'm glad I didn't order through the website. History has shown the actual App on the phone / iPad is always up first. I had Apple pay ready, and the order saved to my favorites. Glad I got in wave one, I'd be dieing if I had a June/July confirm.

Ordered at :01 though the app and with apple pay. No hesitation whatsoever haha. Just pure adrenaline. I'd just like some sign of movement or a statement from apple.

We just had to get the #blackunicorn of apple watches.

It's an app. Apps are more performant than a website. Who knew? I wonder if Google will release an app so android users can use the Apple Watch.

Yep also 3:01EDT/12:01PT with this one, and nadda. It's absolutely crazy that people with JUNE dates have something and 12:01s do not with others.

Yea, it seems like they wouldn't want to upset those who ordered in the first few minutes by shipping those due in June out already.

Same !!!

but I'm really REALLY impatient on this one.

I believe this watch will get 'legs' when it gets out in the field and co-workers start saying 'I didn't KNOW IT DID THAT'

I'm impatient about this launch too. I've already noticed all these apps updating with watch support, I'm excited for the possibilities.

I think part of the frustrating thing about this launch is not really knowing when it will arrive, it has such large and vague delivery estimates!

This has got to be the loneliest thread in all of MacRumors for the Apple Watch.

Makes me feel better that I got in the earliest time window being 4-6 weeks then.
