I just received an EOD from Apple. What does it mean? I placed my order on the 10th and I received the confirmation email at 3:04ET. My watch is still processing.

Dear Gustavo,

Your Apple Watch will be in your hands shortly. Once it is, we can help you get started right in the comfort of your own home with online Personal Setup. It’s a video session* where we show you how to set up Apple Watch with your iPhone, walk you through some key features, and answer your questions. We’ll also point out some great apps, and help you personalize your device.

Schedule online Personal Setup
Of course, you can always visit an Apple Store and request a Personal Setup session with a Specialist.

Thank you for choosing Apple.

Does your order number match the order number from this email? Some people who got this say their order number on the email matched a watch band order number.

If they BOTH match, this could be a good sign as people started receiving their watches a day or 2 after the EOD.

It is not an eMail of death actually. People receive this mail on day of delivery, one day in advance (max).

That goes along with the previously posted charges starting at noon pacific time. If anything happens, we've got about 2 ½ hours till then.

My buddy texted me the screenshot of his charges at about 12:30pm central time yesterday, so that's only 45 minutes away. He got shipping confirmation with tracking at 4:15pm. Obviously for the SS LB and not the SB. But that's when it went down.

Like adults would be a great start. :) I'm not saying people shouldn't call Apple Support. I'm saying What's the point to calling them multiple times a week, week after week, pestering with the same questions. I mean. Why???

I will tell you the constant daily calls I made to Apple right before pre-order, probably got my my first watch on launch day. I had hints that helped me get on quicker, like make sure my Itunes credit card was updated and not just a gift card. Make sure to buy through the Apple Store app. That was the best advice as that is the only way I got on and was able to order when I did. The online store came on for me 5 minutes after the App was up and running. I also was able to get the May 13-27 ship date on the SBSS as opposed to June.

Plus it makes me feel better to at least talk to someone even if they can't do anything. They are all still very nice.

I also am one of the people who had the tattoo issue with the watch and they have been trouble shooting that for me. I can use Apple pay when I use it on the arm with my small tattoo.

I get your excitement, don't get me wrong... but you sound like a nightmare to have to deal with for a company.

Naw! I'm nice and funny and I actually have had them laughing on the phone. You should hear how genuinely excited the two reps I got after they saw my shipping dates. I'm not a bitch about it! I also know that there is only so much they can say and they know that many of us are calling because we can't wait.

Even dealing with the Tattoo issues I'm not stressing it. I can wear it on the other arm and all is well. They did more checking in with me about that I they sent me a free iPod shuffle because they weren't able to solve the problem. That is an issue they escalated to Engineering because they want to make sure to address it in an update or whatever.

Plus I am VERY quick to send compliments to superiors about employees who have been very helpful with whatever company I deal with.

Anecdotally, I think EODs are sent when they don't expect your watch to ship by the first date in your window. I got one on the 22 or 23rd of April stating my first order (a 38mm Space Grey Sport) was "Being worked on" and it arrived Monday instead of Friday (launch day). :02 Space Black SS order here and no EOD emails yet.

I think the original EOD was the one that gave everyone the April 24 - May 8 window (as everyone was thinking "I'm getting my watch on the 24th!") Apple heard about this and wanted to level-set people.

Unfortunately, that has now become part of our vocabulary, so now people have been calling every e-mail from Apple an EOD (regardless of whether it's good news or not). :) Many of them have been to inform people that their shipping windows have moved up (now, how could that be a bad thing?) :)

Leather loops SS watches ordered on release day :01-04 are starting to move.

we may truly be the last ones

+1 If what we've seen thus far is any indication, Apple is trying to make as many customers happy as quickly as possible. So, if we're the smallest batch, we should expect ours at the end.

I just hope we're small enough that we're all fulfilled at once. :)

How many?

I wonder how many units were promised for the May 13-27 ship date for the SBSS watches? I figured there may have been low production when I didn't hear of anyone getting a April 24th launch day ship date.
Other than the Editions, do you think our model was one of the least produced?

Now now let's think positively. It's possible that yesterday they started shipping the regular link watches because they wanted to ensure as many of them as possible to get it by the 13th as stated.

Maybe today was a day that not only more links are going out, but also loops, black links and moderns.

Appears to be just 42mm bright blue leather loops, only in the US thus far.

Obviously, processing is in batches. Hopefully they at least get the other LL colours processed today.
