Bingo.

Every product launch the same complaint cycle kicks in. Conspiracy theories, apple doom, and so forth issues forth from the same percentage of people that didn't get their preferred thing on day one.

I find it especially tedious when we all knew the estimated shipping date before we clicked 'complete purchase'.

A production issue is undeniable here: no one thinks the initial Chinese taptic censors worked. And, frankly, I'm not sure why so few watches are taking so long. I find it unlikely Apple intended for the posters on this board to be annoyed.

My window is June. I want to see if it is changing to 4-6 weeks. Considering that's within June, I don't think it is unreasonable by this point to know if the expectation is early June or late June. But Apple isn't commenting on this watch. This isn't a conspiracy theory. This is fact.

Is Apple doomed? No. But this is, frankly, a less than luxurious experience.

I would guess DLC explains why every other model but ours has shipped. That process takes extra time!

I'm getting so antsy for mine that I'm half tempted to cancel my order, order a stainless steel mode and just attack it with a black Sharpie for the desired effect!

Okay, maybe not just yet… I would like to see some movement!

it's a triple s, stainless, black sport band 42 mm.

That's is funny now that it isn't true that you had a Space Black shipped!! You really could have gotten hurt!!;)

I did order a 38mm just in-case they decided to ship those first. I got a June 15 - 26 ship date. If they bump up that watch I'll be happy! trying to cover my bases!!

I remember reading that article shortly after ordering and kind of laughing to myself that they got it wrong. Link bracelets did not START with a June delivery date. It started with a 4-6 week shipping which is what I have. Delivered May 13-May 27th. Not June. The article is wrong.

I kept asking about the 1st wave of SSSB watches because I got confirmation at :03:47 and it was the May 13 - 27th date. I received my 42 SS Classic Band ordered 1 minute later on Launch Day. It appears the May dates were the first wave for this model.

Just ordered a 42mm Stainless Steel Link. Going to see which ships first, my Space Black or it. Since the Space Black is the first watch to completely miss the beginning of its shipping window, I'm having serious doubts it will ship anytime soon. If they can't make a single one in over a month, there's something wrong.

Yep, may 13th was the first day of the shipping window for the earliest orders, and they missed the first day of a shipping window for the first and probably last time since this is the only model of Apple Watch that has yet to ship at all.

But we knew what the order turn-around times were going to be before placing the orders.

Almost every Apple mobile device does not have the production rates to meet the initial demand (and, frankly, there's a certain supply-chain logic to that). It should come as zero surprise to anyone that the watch would be any different. Expecting otherwise was naively optimistic. :)

Yes, because large corporations which mass produce items ship out 1 at a time to their customers as they make them and not pallets full of 100's or even 1000's at a time.....

You will never see just 1 ship, so all this "they can't even make 1" talk is pointless. They could have 980 ready to ship right now and are just waiting for the last 20 to be boxed up prior to shipping. They could be on a plane right now, hell they could even be in the country right now. No-one knows!

Also, for the UK the first "Delivered by" date was yesterday, 12th May. ;)

Its happening!!!:)

Even though they couldn't predict how many SSSB watches would be ordered...

To have ZERO watches shipped?

Problem with the DLC? There were plenty of the watches made for store displays.

Unknown how popular it might be? Not one shipped. We're there no watches even made?

If they knew the SSSB would be delayed at the start, they could have a disclaimer when we ordered the watch. No communication from Apple. Feels like we're left in the dust.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh.........:D - is this a dream?
Are you sure this is the (right) watch?

yup!!

I'm not the only one. This one was posted on r/apple

I'm guessing there will be more as they process the orders on those 4 planes

We've seen on the regular SS w LB thread that they at least processed the first hour (one guy with an order conf of 1:35am PST was charged).

Guess some of you will need to find a new conspiracy theory. :)

BTW - for those of us with June and July as dates (and no range) - I think the reason that's the way it is, is that Apple wants to clear the backlog before opening up the in store experience (in June). I think getting caught up on the orders will be a pre-requisite to the in store....and that's why they haven't given us more granular ranges yet.

Oooh! Exciting. Nothing happening in Australia yet (at least speaking for myself)

Yeah - if this is like the other late delivery configs, the international orders happen at the end. :(
