Wow, weird.

I love Starbucks, love The Office, love Macs and I'm doing engineering/design. Spooky.

I'm not a designer :D Just a wanna be code monkey and i hate the office both the UK and US version and i'm not a big fan of coffee just green tea and water and sometimes pepsi. :D

I love Starbucks (even used to work there while I was in university)/like The Office (it went downhill after season 3)/am a web developer

Stupid lingo to order Coffee just to make you look superior or in the "IN" crowd ~ childish games all over again (80's grade school reminisce). Also, it all tastes the same with lots of sugar anyway. I prefer French Vanilla from Tim hortons or hot-cocoa.

what's the office - a place I work in.

I'm in Tech support but I'm learning to code and make music - no stereo type here. Plus I didn't buy Mac because it was cool - but because it offered me as a user more power, efficiency and simplicity an internet safety for my kids.

It's nice to know many it the Gold industry have Mac's and use them at work - even if VMWare or bootcamp is in full effect.

Personally I've noticed more engineer/scientist/medical field/comp. science people here than designers. Or college students heading into these fields.

Personally, I hate Starbucks, most of them need to learn not to burn the grounds. I like Tully's if I had to pick a chain.

Haven't seen the office in like a year. Fan of 30 Rock though, Alec Baldwin is the man. "Of course I'm wearing a tuxedo after 6, what am I, a farmer?"

Hello MacRumors,

This is my first forum but I figure I would start now  I have noticed lately that many people have fit the "I like Starbucks; watch The Office, I'm a designer, and I use Mac" Sterotype if you will. Maybe I'm just crazy but do you almost fit or fit this "sterotype". I know I do and some of my friends are as well. Tell me what you think.

myibookrocks:apple:

Being a Designer is great and creative, and being a Mac user is great, but you could also use a PC and Windows, it's rather like saying a BMW is better than a Mercedes Benz, the fact is, it's whatever suits you as an individual.

Going to Starbucks? Be more creative, try some independent coffee shops, if you feel the need to drink Coffee, you might find something more special, instead of the Mcdonalds of all Coffee shops.

The British version of 'The Office' is the only one to watch and as for the 'Stereotype' thing, that's either a joke, and if not, it's all in your insecure head

Stupid lingo to order Coffee just to make you look superior or in the "IN" crowd ~ childish...
 I think the lingo is what I really can't stand about that place. It's bad enough that everyone in LA talks like a "valley girl."
What ever happened to, "Coffee... Lots of cream, lots of sugar" like The Wolf in Pulp Fiction.

I like Starbucks (even have a Starbucks gold card), I think The Office is funny but rarely watch it, and if you've noticed my handle, I'm clearly not a designer.

And I take my coffee like The Wolf.

Now... Do as I say... pretty please... with sugar on top.

I like starbucks, they have good caramel apple cider :p

The office is eh...24 beats the crap out of any show :p

And I'm a Graphic Designer/Videographer/Musician/Producer
;)

1. I don't mind a vanilla bean frapaccino at Starbucks, but I don't go there to hang out or work.

2. The Office was good for about 4 seasons, then it tanked. (30 Rock FTW!)

3. I do graphic design for myself (I wouldn't make a career out of it), and am very proficient in Photoshop and After Effects, sometimes I dabble in Logic, Final Cut, Aperture and Lightroom.

4. Obviously, I use a mac.

At the same time, I kick ass in Counter Strike, have been coding since I was nine, can identify every part of your PC and still have the audacity to be a slim, clean, good-looking guy.

I like to think that I defy every Mac stereotype, with the exception of the elitism associated with being an Apple fan, as I did just write a paragraph about how awesome I am.

*TL:DR*
Stereotypes, like rules, have to be tested.

Haha, love the show, love the quote! Incidentally, my name happens to be Alec, and Baldwin is one of my TV heroes.

well Im a medical officer in the canadian forces, which far from any designing. Theres no starbucks in Afghanistan and i dont get any chance to watch tv. I guess i dont fit the sterotype :p

1. I like Starbucks frappuccino, not coffee, and I don't make a career out of going there.

2. I like The Office (as well as Without a Trace, Monk, House, Family Guy, and Futurama), but I'm not a huge fan

3. I am a web designer (not a professional one though! :p), and I'm somewhat good in GIMP

4. I LOVE my Mac.

Yeah, I probably fit that stereotype.

Sorry to 'hijack' the thread, but there seems to be a Starbuck's on every street in NYC. In Britain we have about three per town

I don't live near a Starbucks and even if I did I would still be a very loyal Tim Hortons customer.

I really do love The Office.

I'm a Civil Servant.

Not really the biggest fan of Starbucks (I much prefer local joints), but if it's the only thing nearby when I'm traveling, I'm game.

Huge fan of both the UK and US Office.

I'm a GIS scientist for the state government. That being said, our other GIS folks are big Mac users at home.
