Popular farming adventure game Stardew Valley+ is now available on Apple Arcade, with Apple Arcade subscribers able to play the title for free. Stardew Valley+ features the same open-ended farming gameplay as the original, with more than 50 hours of content plus mobile features like autosave and touch controls.

Stardew Valley lets players improve upon an abandoned, overgrown plot of land, turning it into a thriving farm with crops, animals, and goods that generate money. Players can form relationships with the townspeople, solving villager quests and attending seasonal festivals.

There are caves to explore for resources, and monsters that drop treasure. Other features include dating events, fishing, clothing and hats to unlock, pets, and more. The Apple Arcade version of the game includes all of the content from recent updates.

Several other Apple Arcade games are getting new content today, with updates for MasterChef, SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit, Squiggle Drop, Illustrated, and Garden Tails.

Apple Arcade is priced at $4.99 per month, and all members of a family sharing group can access Apple Arcade content at that price. Apple Arcade has more than 100 titles to play, none of which include any add-on purchases.

What makes it "Stardew Valley+"? Sounds like the same game to me (which is a fantastic game by the way, anyone looking for a relaxing life/farming simulator should try it).

Existing games that are released under Apple Arcade all have "+" added to them. The difference would be no ads, no in-app purchases, no daily limits, etc. This makes the experience more pleasant. Other than that, the games are exactly the same.

In a rare case, the Arcade app actually has reduced features -- the Chess.com app. There is no legitimate reason for this, so that's sort of a scam. I don't know if there are others like this.

Why is there no link to the app? There are several other irrelevant links to things like macrumors’ “what is Apple Arcade” page, but not a link to the game itself. Feels pretty self serving and lazy.

Can't wait for Leisure Suit Larry to be available, graphics are about the same quality.
Uh, what?

Are you really crapping on the game based on the graphics? AND comparing Stardew Valley to a game from 1987?

You probably don't even pay for Apple Arcade, why should you care anyways? People find anything to complain nowadays, sigh.

It’s the same game, but under the Apple Arcade license.

So, you can buy the game from the App Store for $x and own it indefinitely, or you can subscribe to Apple Arcade and access the game there, so long as your subscription is active.

Essentially, it’s rented vs owned.

Stardew Valley has never had ads, or in-app limits. It's always been a one-and-done purchase with free upgrades.

I play little to almost no video games, but this one is fun. Never played it on iOS, though.

Right, then since it's an existing game, a "+" is added, but there were no ads or purchases to eliminate.

It’s basically an indie developer’s take on Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons, so if you like those series of games, you’ll like this.
Or not like it if you don’t.

Absolutely great game, but really needs a controller setup for your iPhone. Otherwise, you're better off playing it on another platform. Having played it on both a Switch and my iPhone, the console experience is a lot better because the multitouch controls are ... kinda terrible. (Not the dev's fault; there's just only so much you can do with a tap interface or on-screen "sticks.")

Yes, I am, to me graphics are the most important piece of a game experience. Might and Magic I was fun at the time but I have no desire to go back and play it again.

AND comparing Stardew Valley to a game from 1987?

Yes, I did, obviously a bit tongue and cheek, I guess you missed the . Quite obviously, I am not impressed with the graphics quality of Stardew Valley +.

No, I don't, I received multiple trials free with my various devices and personally did not find it worth paying for. YMMV.

People find anything to complain nowadays, sigh.

People also cannot seem to understand that we all have different likes and dislikes. I just came here to register my opinion on the game, sorry that triggered you. I believe that is what a discussion forum is for, isn't it? Notice how I didn't crap on anyone that likes the game? Be better.
